:00 Opening and Welcome
SPEAKER_12Hello things to do. Hey everybody. So uh my neighbor told me uh just the other day that his friend Jack invented a hot tub that injects bubbles into the water. I said, Jack, who's he?
SPEAKER_04What?
SPEAKER_12If you apply a bug if you apply bug repellent, are you putting off on or putting on off?
unknownHmm.
SPEAKER_12Yes. Deep. And uh recently there was a neck decorating contest held at the county fair. It ended in a tie.
SPEAKER_04Was it a bolo?
SPEAKER_12Yeah. Just last night I went to a silent auction and uh I got two mimes and a dog whistle. But uh before we get too serious, really? Serious? Do you know what a culinary wizard practices? Well, saucery, of course. Sounds delicious. Yeah, alright, I've I've caused enough groans. Let's get this going. Cue the music. Well, greetings and Moobark Fluff to all the creatures in the potiverse. I am Barely, and you are listening to Barely Firdcasting, featuring Tapid, the show that asks the question if anything is possible, is it still possible for anything to be impossible?
SPEAKER_08All the deep thoughts tonight, all really, right?
SPEAKER_12Wow. With Jack Handy. Coming to you from around the globe and across the universe, we have Rain, TikTok, Chitaro, and Ziggy. How are all of you? Preparing for the fluff. Easily. Preparing for the fluff. Easily.
SPEAKER_08Trying for the fluff.
SPEAKER_12Trying not to pull my hair out. Yes, because and it's easy for me to grab that hair because you have lots of long hair that you just grab handfuls. I have to actually get in there to pull it out. I did that yesterday. And I should probably introduce my original co-host, Tabin. How the fluff are you today?
SPEAKER_08Hi. He's woo-woo wooing. I'm woo-woo-wooing. I'm good. Um, you know, I'm I'm I'm that way. That is the way I am, and that's is what I say. Okay, what am I this is? What are you talking about? Haben, what are you talking about?
SPEAKER_02Haben, what are you doing?
SPEAKER_08What are you talking about? I really have no idea. But thanks for asking me. Um I do have to say time for Jesse for a walk and how you should do about English. And that is all I will say about
:19 Superfans Shout Outs
SPEAKER_08that.
SPEAKER_12All right. Do you want to do a quick shout out to our uh our super fans?
SPEAKER_08Um, yes. Thank you for keeping us cool on a hot day, super fans. That was stupid. So, yes, Aldrich the Fox and the Otter, and there was another who oh, of course, uh um thank you for the first one.
SPEAKER_05Embryon caniston, embryon caniston.
SPEAKER_08And embryon caniston, that's right. Um thank you for all your support and listening all the way to the very end of these episodes. And if there's any for out there that also actually listens to like every uh every minute of the episode, like you don't cheat and like forward to the end and stuff, let us know, and uh we will give you a shout-out on the show and stuff. Awesome. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_12Yes, I think starting in season seven, we will have uh shout-outs to super fans at the beginning of
:18 Podcast Announcements
SPEAKER_12the show every time. Alright, some quick notes before we get on with our nonsense. Uh, we have concluded our BFFT Labs segment tests. Uh so be sure to tune in during season seven to find out what we decided on. And then our next episode is our season finale. Woo! Season six is coming to an end. And then we will have a movie watch the week immediately following our season finale, and then look for other specials at the beginning of season seven. All right. So, Taven, before we move any further, is there any Ziggy's gonna be banned? No, he's not. I need to get a hammer. I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna get the bonk noise every time he says anything.
:03 Things Taebyn Doesn't Understand
SPEAKER_12Alright, Taven, is there anything you don't understand before we move forward in this uh silliness?
SPEAKER_08I don't understand why are you pine filled mopping plates with vinegar when all they had to do was call the environment suite to check on the golly ash. I mean, it's just so simple. Why not just do that?
SPEAKER_12I just don't understand. I don't understand either. Because you have to get to the point. Because tomato soup has no bones. True.
SPEAKER_11That is very true and controversial.
SPEAKER_12Well, I didn't see anybody put any notes in the past today, which means we've got everything up to date. So, Tabin, it's time for you to give us our affirmations.
:16 Furmations
SPEAKER_12Which we desperately need. Desperately, desperately need some firmations right now, yes.
SPEAKER_08And just really quickly, every fur why we desperately need them is because you this episode is being released after Furlandia, but we four of us uh are leaving for Furlandia tomorrow, so we're kind of in the middle of um getting all that packed up and everything. And of course, Chitaro is uh I I am so surprised that Chitaro joined us this evening because, well, he's the con chair and I did give him a pass.
SPEAKER_12We had a meeting on Sunday, and I said, Look, if you're too busy on Tuesday night to record, it's okay. And he's like, Oh, hell no, that's my respite from the week.
SPEAKER_05Okay, it is totally my respite. So I want to thank you. Thank you all for allowing me to take two hours out of my day to record this because it need I it was very much needed. So I'm ready for I'm ready for being zen now, Tabin. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_08We are already apparently your Zen, so we will get an extra layer of Zen right now. Where I do this thing that I do, the affirmations for the week. So the next three cards that I read, one is a pitfold doggy that says, I stand firm in my beliefs and values. And on the back, it says, Define your values. Spend some time reflecting on what you truly value, and write these down. Reviewing and standing by your values can guide your decisions and give you a stronger sense of self. Oh that's the one. And uh on the next one is a beagle. And this beagle says, I listen deeply, attuning myself to the rhythms of life. And on the back, we are bathing because we have a sound bath, it says. I don't know what that is, but oh well it's going to tell us attend a sound bath session or listen to a recording of one. The resonant sounds from instruments like singing bowls can help align your energy and promote deep relaxation. Singing bowls.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, crystal bowls. They kind of go. No, they're usually made out of metal. Metal or crystal.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, I have one somewhere.
SPEAKER_08You do? Yeah, I do. So these are actual things. Okay, so all you first make sure you listen to the bowl sink.
SPEAKER_12You've seen them, Tabin. What they are is they're like a metal bowl and have a wooden club type thing. You hit the bowl and then you run the club around the rim.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_12Those are called singing bowls.
SPEAKER_08I I see you earn. Wow. That's amazing. And the last one is a cute little border colleagues that says, I navigate life's twists and turns with agility and grace. And to uh fit in with the agility uh agility aspect on the back of the cards, it says, practice flexibility! Try a new activity that requires physical or mental flexibility. And oh it's no, I thought it said something about a pizza, but no, it says something about a puzzle, so I won't read the rest of that. But that concludes the affirmations for this week.
SPEAKER_12Unless people are and unless listeners are listening in headphones, they didn't hear that whisperer.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_12Or unless they're dogs. If they're dogs, if they're dogs, yes, that's
:00 Media
SPEAKER_12right. All right, that takes us up to our media section. Ah, I was in time. You guys weren't. I'm deaf. I just got mine off just in time. For listeners, uh, when he does that, we all pull our ear our headphones away from our ears.
SPEAKER_08Because it's a painful doggy voice.
SPEAKER_12So now it's gonna be my challenge to uh get him to do that before everybody takes their headphones off. Alright, so if we have a deaf podcast uh coming up in the season ahead, that's why.
SPEAKER_02We know how to say I know how to say Trump now.
SPEAKER_12Okay. Yes, that's right. I watched that too.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_12That's American Sign Language for Trump. Is it no Lord? You put your hand on top of your by your forehead and wait and wag your fingers, and that's Trump. Is there a thing?
SPEAKER_05It totally makes sense, too. Yeah, his hair.
SPEAKER_12If you watched uh Brad Williams, his latest um yeah comedy special, it's on YouTube. It's called Live from Short Street.
SPEAKER_08Oh, though you told me about that. Okay, so I have to watch that, yeah.
SPEAKER_12Yes, it's on YouTube. It's the only place it's on, it's on YouTube. I haven't found it anywhere else.
SPEAKER_02So uh I I think I think a lot of comedians I've I've been noticing lately are migrating to YouTube for their specials because the cost of entry is far lower than going with like Netflix or something like that.
SPEAKER_12Sure. Alright, so media. I've been keeping up on all the new releases of uh Georgie and Mandy's first marriage. I'm keeping up on Ghosts, American Dad, Family Guy, I know that, and Bob's burgers. I know there's some more new episodes that uh uh the hubby and I are going to watch this evening while we're cuddled up in bed. I'm catching, we're catching up on Invasion, the Apple TV sci-fi about uh, well, being invaded by aliens. I started the new episode, the new season of Rue Paul's Dry Grace All-Stars. Oh and uh it's it's pretty good. I'm enjoying it, and I'm also happy that I didn't have to pay for it this time because I had to pay for the standard one because I don't have MTV. And uh so I had to pay for the other one.
SPEAKER_08I want my MTV.
SPEAKER_12I did notice though that it is MTV, uh, is the is the main host for RuPaul's Dry Grace, and they used to have a specific song when they plant the flag on the moon at the beginning. They changed the song.
SPEAKER_07Why would they do that?
SPEAKER_12They changed the song, it's a different song. Uh TikTok's curious, he's gonna listen to it the next time, isn't he? Uh I thought it was the original song. No, it's a different it's a different uh it's a different starting song for the MTV flag plant.
SPEAKER_05Okay. Maybe they're updating it for the newer listeners.
SPEAKER_12Maybe, I guess. Um I did watch a couple of weeks ago Project Hail Mary. Oh, I have to say, great, great movie. If you have a spare two hour and 36 minutes that you have nothing better to do, I don't. And you can find it, uh, watch it. It's not out on video yet, but um, it's it's an awesome, awesome movie, and I can see why the CGI that's in there should be nominated for Best Supporting Cast Member. It is.
SPEAKER_02Well, also I watched Adam Savage's tour of the set, and the set of his spaceship, uh, all those screens and everything, they're all real. That's not CGI. It's a very practical set. Wow. Uh with with uh Rocky being apparently the most CGI portion of the movie. Obviously.
SPEAKER_08Was Bull Weekle there in support?
SPEAKER_02No, different Rocky.
SPEAKER_08Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_11Rocky Raccoon?
SPEAKER_05No, no, different Rocky. And not the first one. So I'm assuming you saw this in the I'm assuming you saw this in a theater then, right? I flee. I fleeed the fifth. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_08Uh Tabin, what have you been media ingredients? Hi. Hi. Um, so I've still been trying to work my way through re-watching the first half of season three of these, and I'm still like you you might remember a few weeks ago, I said, well, I'm hoping to be able to finish all of season three before Forlandy, because obvious reasons, and I'm not. I'm like not even done with the first half that was already out a long time ago. So I'm that's not gonna happen. Um we started season seven of Brooklyn, Brooklyn Line 9. And you know, it's really fun how, like, when season four was all done, like everyone we all thought that season four was like the end, and like uh now we're starting season seven. They just keep going. But it's it's that's pretty good. We finished season two of Running Point. Uh, you might remember I talked about that before. It's a great show. Um, they definitely left it open for season three, so I hope they do. Um, because it's a really good show. I really like it. We finished season one of Brockmeyer. Now, I think you might or might not remember me talking about the show Brockmeyer like long ago. No. No. Okay. Yeah, because I didn't even remember that, like, we had watched maybe a few episodes, and then, like, just about a week ago, we're like, oh, maybe we should continue watching Brockmire because, well, we apparently forgot. Anyway, it's a fun little show about a famed Major League Baseball announcer who went a little crazy having a meltdown of sorts on the air, which put him off the air, but then he tried to make a combat comeback a decade later. And it's kind of a fun little um little show, something I think maybe just to watch if you just want something to watch. It's it's humorous, it's good. Um, that's what we've been watching. I've been playing Royal Kingdom, Blue, uh, Monkeys Go Pop, Beatsaber, uh, and I still haven't had time to continue to try and figure out One Deck Galaxy. Last time I talked about a game Dominion, which I still haven't checked out, so hopefully, next recording of our show I'll have actually figured out more of One Deck Galaxy and played Dominion so I can actually talk about it instead of saying, Oh, hey, I'm supposed to talk about it and play it, but no, I haven't done it yet, so I'm kind of dumbhead, so there it is. Anyway, we'll see um what happens. Alright. And that's what I've been meaning for the one.
SPEAKER_12Alright, I forgot to mention that uh we watched uh Good Omens 3. Oh the new the new season, the new quote unquote season came out, season three. It's only one episode. Yeah. That's a very short season. Well, it's it's it's just like they just buttoned up everything and uh off it went. And uh it was really good. I enjoyed it immensely. But I was just gonna say, well, just watch season we'll just watch episode one and then we can go to bed. And 97 minutes, 97 minutes or two hours later, it was like, oh, wait a minute. So yeah.
SPEAKER_02Rain and Ziggy, what have you been watching? Well, we haven't been watching anything really. We've been kind of busy. Uh, between Ziggy's mom coming back from her trip to Europe, Mother's Day, yesterday's triple birthday, my dad, my niece, and Ziggy's dad, and then Ziggy's new position at work, watching TV's been kind of on the back burner for us. So I I've been playing some of my old favorite video games, The Darkness 2, Call of Duty Ghost, and Overwatch 2. Ziggy, what about you?
SPEAKER_11Just been playing the new act of Fortnite. It has been a lot of yes, a lot of peep you. It has been a lot of experimentation experimental changes, which I'm enjoying very much. They are still pushing through Star Wars mode, and apparently they are going to start featuring a lot of more Disney characters. There's already Toy Story and even Rada Dui and Rumor Turk Kingdom Hearts is possibly possibly coming. Oh, and just before recording time, we watched the Fortnite exclusive trailer for The Mandalorian and Broo. It was fun nice.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, John Pavarot even came on at the beginning and gave like a special shout out to all the Fortnite players and and you know it's an exclusive trailer. I'm sure it'll be on the on YouTube probably in the next 20 minutes or so. Of course, yes. I'm sure it probably already is. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08I'm assuming that Bullwinkle supported that one though, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_02I'm sure you did.
SPEAKER_08Oh my cow.
SPEAKER_11What's wrong with me? We don't know.
SPEAKER_05If we knew that. We love you the way you are. Okay. You're just a pup, Tabin. You're just a pup.
SPEAKER_12I am just a pup. You are just a pup. TikTok, how about you?
SPEAKER_03Well, let's see. We got Usual Jeopardy, uh, RuPaul, Drag Race, All-Stars. Uh, congrats to Don to making it to the next bracket. You know, I gotta say, Don sure does love some fake fur and anthropomorphic costuming. Yes, she does. Yes, she does.
SPEAKER_08Well, we were on the same page there.
SPEAKER_03I did um I did some hunting. Um, haven't found anything about him being part of the fandom so far, but give it time.
SPEAKER_11Give it time. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Usually adjacent becomes smack dab in the middle of it within a very short amount of time. Yes, yes, absolutely. We've seen it several times.
SPEAKER_03Also, uh, Tony Bourdain knows uh no reservations. We watched the Ukraine episode, and during filming in Kiev, I spotted a background bystander at a bunny head partial fur scene. And at first I thought it might have been related to like spring, Easter, because that's when the filming took place. And but while there's certainly festivals related to spring in the region, there's nothing bunny related. Uh however, I did find that Furrence, one of the OG European fur cons, was taking place around that time. So I think an uh attendee probably photobombed the filming. I love it. Yay, Bunny. I love it.
SPEAKER_12Uh newies are important. Chitaro, what have you been up to? I know you haven't been up to much, but you know, because you've been so busy.
SPEAKER_05But you've been doing well. Well, you know, I I I have I have been having a small amount of my time taken up by Furlandia, you know, just a small amount. Just but first I want to say, Taban, you would appreciate this one. Oh I wag in anticipation. Because Pink Lemonade and I watched a film called Good Boy.
SPEAKER_04Oh!
SPEAKER_05Was I in it? Which one? Um, no, I don't think you were. But this one is about a dog that sees supernatural, not supernatural, supernatural entities lurking around the family home. Um the dog's guardian moved out of the wood moved out into the woods, and that's where all the interesting things start to occur. This dog's name is Indie, named for Indiana Jones, because um this this dog was the director's dog, and we're gonna be. We named the dog Indiana. Yes, yes, exactly. Exactly. But he actually received uh as as ironic as it's gonna be, it's the first time ever that a dog gets top billing in a movie.
SPEAKER_08Oh nice. You would think a duck would get top billing in a movie.
SPEAKER_05Uh sorry. And so this dog is also this dog also won an award for for their uh acting in this movie, too. I don't remember what award it was because I was trying to search for it, but I do know they won an award for it. Yeah, so uh it was really cool. The interesting part about this movie is that the human actors and actresses' faces are never seen until the final moments of the film. So so this is all from the perspective of the dog, and you see all the dog's cute little faces and what he sees in the darkness and things like that. It was it was really an awesome film. I I I you know, best performance from a dog ever in a film, to be honest, you know. Yeah. Well, you know, that's a that's a different story, you know, because crispy chicken nummy nummy tots is a classic. It's true. But but you know, I I will say this dog, this dog, they they they said that they spent over 300 hours filming because of the dog needing to have certain things, and and he wasn't really trained to be in this film because he was just the director's dog, so you know it's kind of one of those things. So because you're the director, you get to do everything. Absolutely, hence why the movie was called Good Boy. I will say because of also because of Furlandia, we've been watching a lot, and I mean a lot, of American Dad. And and and and I kid you not, in the last five weeks, we went from watching the first season, first episode, and um and currently since we last talked, we've finished the season 10 and we're currently on season 13. Wow. Wow. Yeah, so that means that we're actually up to 2018 now. In terms of American Dad. American Dad is a nice thing to just kind of drone out to in the at the end of the day when you dead 12 hours at Forlandia.
SPEAKER_12Yes, he does. That's our go-to-sleep nighttime cuddle time.
SPEAKER_05I also have been playing more Disney Dreamlight Valley, and let me tell you, they did a great job incorporating Alice in Wonderland. You get to gain um the characters Alice and the Cheshire Cat.
SPEAKER_12Nice.
SPEAKER_05And let me tell you, the Cheshire Cat is a pain in the ass. Is he related to my cat? Because my cat's a pain in the ass, too. All cats are pains in the asses. Hey, I take it right from chirp, chirp, meow meow hiss hits. But we love you anyway.
SPEAKER_08Yes, but with the other edition of the EFFT where the entire staff flies each other.
SPEAKER_05So I will say, with all of his riddles and his misdirections, he keeps you on your toes for sure. And so it's kind of fun. There are times when you just want to tell him and you get a chance to say to him, I think you've said too much and things like that when you're talking to him. Um, but you know, he doesn't care because he's the Cheshire cat. I've had a few misdirections. Hopefully they didn't end up on the floor. No.
SPEAKER_11I'm glad you watched the 2018 movie deploy. The one from 2022 is completely different. Okay.
SPEAKER_07Yep. Good to know. That is very good to do. Good to know. Look for the one that has the dog, not the one with the.
SPEAKER_12Okay. Yes.
:14 This or That
SPEAKER_12Alright, we're gonna do a standard this or that from my 3001 this or that questions. Wow. We go throwback. We're gonna go throwback here because, you know, we have 3,001 of these. So uh I'm just gonna go around my my pictures here of who's ever in in in order on my screen. So Chitaro, you get the first question.
SPEAKER_05Okay. Would you rather have unlimited sushi or unlimited pizza? Well, as long as the pizza was thicker crust and not like paper thin, then I would say pizza.
SPEAKER_08Because you don't want it to like cut yourself and stuff.
SPEAKER_05Okay. Yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_12Tabin, you get the next one.
unknownWoo!
SPEAKER_12Would you rather go to a concert of your favorite artist but only be way at the back? Or go see an artist you kinda sorta like, but you get VIP seats.
SPEAKER_08Well, I think I'll do the very important pup seats, cause obvious reasons. Okay. Because I I want to be a very important pub, oh my cow!
SPEAKER_12Uh, Rain. Yes. Would you rather have one free international trip every year or fly domestically everywhere anytime for free?
SPEAKER_02Well, since I don't live in the US anymore, that's kinda like not gonna work for me, but the one free international trip per year does sound kind of fun.
SPEAKER_04Good.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I mean, yeah.
SPEAKER_12Well, this is another food-related one for Ziggy.
SPEAKER_11Yay! See senor!
SPEAKER_12But it's a give up. Which would you rather give up? Would you rather give up pizza or tacos for a year? Oh my cow!
SPEAKER_11What is that?
SPEAKER_02What? This is a tough choice for him because he loves both of them.
SPEAKER_11I think I'll would give up uh pizza because now we have a very good taco place here, and I'm not gonna miss on that.
SPEAKER_12Yeah. This is a very strange one for you, TikTok. Would you rather have a face-shaped nose or what? A nose-shaped face.
SPEAKER_09What the cowinius and fair?
SPEAKER_03Well, I guess, you know, if the nose is where it's supposed to be, like having like the little like second face, you know, in the nose. Yeah. Might be kind of cool.
SPEAKER_08No, it wouldn't.
SPEAKER_12You don't want to be just a big nose on top of your shoulders? No. No.
SPEAKER_08Okay. None of that is good.
SPEAKER_12I don't Terry Gilliam. Very Terry Gilliam, yes. Okay, Chitaro, your next one. Yes. Would you rather have a magic refrigerator or a magic toilet? Now it doesn't tell us what the magic does, but would you rather have a magic refrigerator or a magic toilet?
SPEAKER_05Well, that's scary. I I I'm finding that most of these are about food to a small degree. Um true. But I would rather have a magic refrigerator because, you know, it in my mind, a magic refrigerator would like guess what it is that my brain says I might be hungry for and put it in there for me to eat. Awesome.
SPEAKER_12Okay, Tabin.
SPEAKER_05Hi.
SPEAKER_12Would you rather have everything? Sorry.
SPEAKER_08Okay, on the count of three, every clear. One, two, three.
SPEAKER_12Okay, Tabin, would you rather have Pay attention, pup.
SPEAKER_08I'm trying, I'm trying. Okay, okay. I'm listening. I'm I'm here. I'm here.
SPEAKER_12Would you rather have everything you need with no space to keep it, or a ton of space with nothing you need?
SPEAKER_08I think I'd go with the first one. I'll I'll make it work. I'll make it work.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Yeah. Anybody who's seen Tabin's room knows that he makes it work.
SPEAKER_08I do that's true. That's very true.
SPEAKER_02That's very true.
SPEAKER_12Okay, rain. Yes. This is a chicken-based question.
SPEAKER_08Is it crispy?
SPEAKER_12Well, yes. Do you want fried or baked chicken?
unknownFried.
SPEAKER_12Fried all day.
SPEAKER_02There you go. Fried all day.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Every day. Every day.
SPEAKER_12Ziggy. Would you rather kill your enemies with kindness or outsmart and embarrass them?
SPEAKER_11Uh, with kindness, with a machete called kindness. Oh.
SPEAKER_08Oh wow. So they started out great but when a little dark.
SPEAKER_02My baby's got some some deep dark tendencies.
SPEAKER_05We now know why you pay Fortnite, Ziggy. Yes.
SPEAKER_11I'm gonna hug people. Hug them very tight.
SPEAKER_12Okay, and finally, TikTok. If you only could choose one flavor of ice cream to eat for the rest of your life, would it be chocolate or vanilla?
SPEAKER_03Uh vanilla.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_12There's only two choices. I mean, you could always put anything on it, right? Yeah. There's no restrictions on these questions. It just says blah blah blah.
SPEAKER_08So I mean, I think that the um undertone here is that Boldwinkle would bring it to you, whatever it is. So it would be fine in any case. All right. All right.
SPEAKER_05Well, Boldwinkle only brings chocolate meat because there's nothing up his sleeve. That's true.
:03 Furry News
SPEAKER_12That takes us up to our intrepid Super Sleuth TikTok. What do you have for us in the furry news world today?
SPEAKER_03Well now, the Maryland Renaissance Fair has caused something has caused a kerfluffle for banning fur suits. What a kerfluffle? Yes, uh, and on their fact page, inappropriate, offensive, and non-thematic headwear will not be permitted through the festival gates. Examples of non-compliant headgear face coverings include inappropriate face paint, offensive prosthetics, uh makeup or masks intended to frighten, okay, and fursuits.
SPEAKER_07Oh what is this?
SPEAKER_12Well, I mean, you know, the Renaissance really didn't have furries.
SPEAKER_02Well, it didn't have Star Trek it didn't have Star Trek people either. So that's true. Yeah. What about Robin Hood?
SPEAKER_05Isn't that at least Robin Hood is kind of like Robin Hood is kind of like Renfair to a small tree, right?
SPEAKER_03Yes. And yeah, there's more on that. There's more on that. You know, hold your hats, hold your ears, hold your nosies. Additional statements from the fair include, and this is compiled from a few different sources, um, our decision to specifically prohibit fursuits is based on repeated incidents and patrons wearing said costumes at the festival. Okay. And it was a variety of issues, not complying with festival security, actively performing, engaging with patrons, character interactions, misrepresenting themselves as hired festival entertainment. Okay. We understand that these concerns do not apply to every individual who wears a fursuit, but a pattern has been established and a lack of respect for the festival community is present. Personally, I'm trying to imagine a significant number of fur fursuiters that would be enough to cause as widespread issues at a public event. I'm not buying it, you know, and so perhaps some of our listeners familiar with the affair would like to weigh in, so please get in touch with us. But in any case, here's the real rub in my opinion. It was also stated the fair is trying to get back to the original focus of a Renaissance festival. Now, define a Renaissance festival. Yeah. I mean, other statements imply they're trying to become more of a period, that is to say, historical show. But the American version of a Renfair has very, very little to do with historical accuracy. True. It's just a fantasy fest. As far as fur city not being period, I present to you my dear dear furs, medieval animal mumming. I plan to cover mummy uh mumming in a future report, but in short, it's the tradition of dressing in animal furs and mass, going from door to door, and performing impromptu skits. Often for money or food. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I mean, what's next? Are they gonna kick Jacques Wipper out too? I mean, because it has absolutely nothing to do with with Renfairs, but he's at every single one of them, it seems like.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's it's a it's a fantasy fest. You know, you know, it's cosplay without the commercialism, you could say. Anywho, so the next up, I've been recently made aware of Sacred Beans Coffee, a coffee shop in Denver, Colorado. According to their Blue Sky page, we are a queer and fret and furry-owned coffee roaster that specializes in unique and micro lot coffees. Nice. Okay. And from what I saw in their media, they're very much in the same vein as Slightly Furry Cider in Seattle. Uh the coffee house has furry themed. Uh, along with your cup of joe, expect to see furry art, take part in some table gaming, listen to vital records, and see the occasional fursuit. So wait yeah, way to go sacred beads. And rain. Are you ready for this? Again? Yes, I'm picking on you again. It's not just racks who get to party. In central eastern part of France, gendarme de sol. Oh well. Uh it's drunk season for the local fauna. Wild animals have a tendency to eat fermented fruit and other date decaying vegetation, and then get a little more than tipsy. In the Burgundy region, of course, known for its wine, local authorities posted a video of a drunk deer which had consumed fermented grapes and it found. The uh in the video, the deer spins in circles, staggers, falls down onto its back, and then gets up standing on very wobbly legs. Uh according to the authorities. If Bambi has had a bit too much of that forest a perditif, now might not be the best time to drive as if you own the world. Own the road own the road. It warned drivers to slow down, be aware of their surroundings, and avoid sudden steering maneuvers. Awesome.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, I know. Uh I have a cherry tree in my backyard, and if I don't pick all the cherries, which I can't because it's too tall, and I don't have a cherry picker to pick the cherries, but uh I know that uh in the in the late fall when the cherries are all getting rotten and the blue jays go in there to eat them, they start basically falling out of the trees and uh and and kind of walking around on the ground going, what the hell? Where am I at? What's going on? Why am I so this way?
SPEAKER_05The squirrels do that at my cherry trees. They they fall out of the trees drunk off their butts. So it's kind of funny watching.
SPEAKER_03Nice. But then that's the news for this week.
SPEAKER_05Awesome.
:20 Cheetaro's Movie Review
SPEAKER_05All right. Hey, Chatara, do you got a movie for us? I do have a movie for us this week. Um, it's the 2026 movie that's streaming on Netflix uh called Swapped. So it's interesting because when you watch this movie, all of the animals that are in this movie are it's like you're watching it from another planet. Because, you know, there's there's all sorts of animals that are in this. There, there's these deer. No, they are not Bambi Tabin, just so you know. Um, but there's these deers that have these antlers that look like trees on their head, and the whole entire body looks like bark. Um there's wolves that have trees on their head, and you know, and um and and and it's very interesting. It's almost it's very surrealistic in terms of, but um, all of these animals were based on animals that are on our planet, of course, but they're not but this doesn't take place on our planet. But what's really cool is there's this one creature who kind of in all honesty, he kind of looks like a hedgehog crossed with a porcupine without needles, so to speak. Um, and and his name is Ollie. And he is called a I'm gonna try to say this correctly so it doesn't sound rude, a poo-koo. He is this fuzzy little thing, and and he's roaming around in the beginning of the movie, and and and he's like this, you know, his parents tell him, Don't roam away from the spot because you could get in trouble. Well, he roamed away and he runs into this bird who he ends up treating to some of their food, and then the those birds end up overtaking their food and and things like that. And so so basically what ends up happening is it's it's kind of this turf war between these pukoo and these birds, you know, in terms of stuff. Well then they kind of tell you this interesting story about how long ago the puku were a different kind of animal, and they had these pods that when you touch them, you would turn into a different animal. H hence why this movie's called swapped, so to speak, because you're swapping from one animal to another, so to speak. So when you're going through the movie from from the part where you hear the story, what ends up happening next is the young little uh little creature called Ollie uh ends up uh getting ousted to a small degree out of his village because people aren't happy with him sharing all of their food and they don't have food enough to eat. So he goes out and he tries to figure out how he can solve this problem, and he ends up trying to figure out how to do this by using some glass to shine into these birds' eyes from the sun and make them all fly away. Well, they did, but the unfortunate part is that one of them ends up knocking him down a hole and into these pods, and as he was falling, he said this bird's name, and then he immediately turns into this bird. Eventually, the bird ends up turning into a poo, and and then they have this journey to to figure out oh my god, we have to find these other pods to be able to um switch ourselves back. So they become friends and all this stuff, and it's kind of a fun little cute movie. Um But the overall arching message of this movie is rather interesting. It talks about friendship between people, well, specifically these animals, and how cooperation is kind of important. It also talks a little bit about environment and things of that nature, too, because there's a lot of stuff that ends up happening that destroys the whole entire landscape and stuff like that. But but they would be wrecking the movie to tell you more about that, to be honest. But I will say the animation in this is exorbitantly wonderful. If it wasn't for the fact that I knew that it was CGI, you would not know it was CGI. Oh wow. It's kind of that good in all honesty. Well, while watching this movie, you know, there, you know, because of the fact, like I said, these aren't real animals that are on Earth by any means, but but watching it gave me a sense of of inclusion to a certain degree, because you could see yourself as one of these animals and be involved and immersed into this thing. So so, in regards to my my rating for this, my chirp counter, um, I'm giving this four and a half chirps because it is a really good movie. The the music that's in there kind of pairs nicely with it. It's not any of the music like has vocals and stuff like that, but it it really pairs nicely with uh how the movie goes and things of that nature. So, so I I would recommend people watching it because, like I said, the the ultimate underlying message of of friendship and cooperation, you know, um is really deep in the the movie, um, and and of course the environmental message too. So, so like I said, it's on Netflix, it's called Swapped. It just came out this year. Really wonderful movie. Um, so uh go go go and stream it on Netflix.

:22 Yipeee Coyote Interview
SPEAKER_00link to help support the show becoming a reality.
SPEAKER_12Well, uh Tabin and I had a chance to sit down with Yippie Coyote recently, so let's take a listen to what Yippie has to say. Well, hello, Evernote. We are sitting down with James Chin Jimmy, uh aka Yippie Coyote. Welcome to the show.
SPEAKER_10Hi, how thanks for having me. James is what my dad called me. Uh-huh. Usually to people I would go by Jimmy.
SPEAKER_12Jimmy. All right. Yppi among fandoms. Jimmy Yippy, whatever we want to call you, but um Vladimir. So you're Vladimir? I don't think we want to call him Vladimir. That's got some negative connotations right about now.
SPEAKER_08Oh, actually, that is a true statement. So never mind.
SPEAKER_12So never mind. Let's not stick with Vladimir. So so you're a furry? Yep, you are. Okay.
SPEAKER_1035 years now. Okay. All right.
SPEAKER_12So well that kind of answers the question. When did you enter the fandom 35 years ago? So that would be 1980 or 1990.
SPEAKER_101990. Um August 4th. Nice. Oh.
SPEAKER_08To the day. What happened on August 4th that uh turned you furry? And then when and how did you get into the fandom?
SPEAKER_10That was kind of my uh initial word that set me on the uh the path. Uh I was at a sci-fi convention and a cartoonist artist uh by the name of Ken Mitcheroni had just come back from LA working on Tiny Tunes.
SPEAKER_07Oh, cute.
SPEAKER_10And had seen my artwork and said, you should check out Robrazzle. And when I got back to college, uh after the convention was over, I asked on uh the Usenet group, uh Rec Arts Comics, what's Rob Razzle? Sure enough, that led to uh discovering Robrazzle, and then uh the guy who answered was the edit one of the editors of uh the fanzine yarf, and next thing you know, I've got the first six issues uh in the mail for me.
SPEAKER_08Nice, very nice. Nice, nice. You just never know. There that's good, good, great, great.
SPEAKER_12Why are you considering yourself a retired pop you fur?
SPEAKER_10Well, to some extent, uh I consider myself as being pop well, in the basic, basic terms of it, is I'm popular within the fandom. I'm known and so forth. But I'm not the pop you fur with a P capital P. I don't go chasing the fame, I don't go really out looking for uh cred and trying to uh promote things and uh dictate to people about how they should uh act and behave and what they should do to have fun and how to be a furry.
SPEAKER_08And you don't throw crayons at other furs. No, no, of course not.
SPEAKER_10I'm a good I'm a good kid in the playground.
SPEAKER_08Oh, good, good, good. Barely crayons. I know that look from barely. He gets that from the other. I like how Yippee didn't even blink when I said that, and then barely spike even but that's a common thing that happens around these parts.
SPEAKER_12It it it is around these parts here, yes sir. Um so okay, so you have a YouTube channel?
SPEAKER_10Uh I do kinda, but I don't really post there. Okay. Oh.
SPEAKER_08What do you post there when you do or when you did post there?
SPEAKER_10Actually, not really sure what I have up there. I think I have uh a few old videos from uh like I have my old uh Phoenix Coyote's uh audition video from 1998. Oh, very cool. And uh a clip of uh where I played a blue dog and walked off the front of a stage.
SPEAKER_08Oh and I want to see that.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, a friend of a friend had inserted the uh Wilhelm scream, so I'll send you the link later.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, definitely. So uh so all you first uh make sure to check out the uh Yippies YouTube channel because I I want to see the blue dog where it comes. And 1998, so there's like some vintage furry stuff there, so that's very exciting. So we'll post the link on the um uh BFFT webpage, so make sure to check all that out.
SPEAKER_10If I think if you look for Yip Coyote and you should find it.
SPEAKER_08Or you can look for Yip Coyote and you should find it. So that might be actually a little bit easier. Um so something about you have ratings of the mascots.
SPEAKER_10That was a separate someone else's article that uh is how uh I brought you brought you into me here.
SPEAKER_08That relates to like my question that I have later. I as soon as I said that, I didn't know what that meant, so I was gonna have barely read it. But now, so all you first can listen to my thought process here, and that's very exciting. No, it's not. So I wasn't sure what that meant, and so I was gonna have barely asked you that question, but then I just started asking it, and as soon as I started reading it, I realized, wait, that relates to something I'm going to ask later. So this is a great part of our story, and this is great. So forget that I said that, but and all you furs out there forget I said that because I'm that's that's coming up. So I will then say, you have a veritable plethora of fursuits. Tell us about them all. How how many of them do you have? How many of them have I hugged and seen? Because I know at least two or three.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I've uh got twenty now. Oh my goodness. That's it's kind of variable because some of them are rate, some of the older suits are retired, uh, not really in circulation. Uh first off, there's Yippie. Yippie Coyote, you've met him.
SPEAKER_09Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_10Fuzzy brown coyote, first invented in uh 1996. Oh, is he is he the first? Uh no, he's actually my second first suit.
SPEAKER_06Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I have this uh sort of uh simplistic looking wolf uh named Woodruff, and he's kind of buried in my garage somewhere. Oh, okay. Woodruff. Or Woodruff. I don't know if you want me to run down all 20 of them.
SPEAKER_12Well, no, so so so why 20? Why do you have 20? What's just uh just over time they wear out, you get another one, or well, it's more like uh I like uh adopting characters.
SPEAKER_10Um I've m made a few of my own, including Yippy and Twilight and a few other.
SPEAKER_08I like Twilight.
SPEAKER_10Yep. And I seem to uh accumulate them uh over time. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Oh look, there's another fursuit there magically amazing.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, they just kind of uh find their way to me uh one way or another. I I know of a friend who's like looking to sell a suit and uh when I had money, and uh it just happened, uh yeah, I'll adopt this one.
SPEAKER_06Nice.
SPEAKER_10A few of them are part of uh part of history. Uh I Pachinko, a bunny gal built by Latin Vixen, uh Mixed Candy from 2005. So she recently turned uh uh 20.
SPEAKER_08Oh, wow, she's getting up there.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, but never ask a girl her age.
SPEAKER_08No, no, no, no, no. Uh I'll blame when when when she slaps me when I say something about it, I'll blame Yippie.
SPEAKER_10Blame the coyote. Uh uh one is Champ, he's a little black doggy from uh Aaron Studios, aka um uh the main guy there is Whitey Fox. Okay, pioneer fursuiter, he's been doing this stuff for 27 years at least. Oh, wow. He has a distinction, he was um built in 2005, uh commissioned by Lacey, and then uh Latin Fixen adopted him in 2006. She took him to AnthroCon 2006, and they got studio photos, uh including one that ended up in the Guinness Book of World Records from 2000 2008.
SPEAKER_08Wow. What category did it uh?
SPEAKER_10Largest furry gathering.
SPEAKER_08Oh, okay. Oh, okay. Okay, oh yes, yes, yes, exactly. Wow, very cool. And so you have all this fluff and everything. So does that mean that do you consider yourself to have a main persona and or do you consider yourself to have multiple personas?
SPEAKER_10Uh I have multiple. Um my main, I would say uh, of course, Yippie. Uh he's the mascot I always wanted to be. Cool. So it's like I've had a love of mascots and cartoon characters, and never had quite the opportunity to uh be one until uh much later. Secondly, is uh Twilight. I love Twilight. I consider he's he's uh more of my personal uh personal affectionate side. Okay.
SPEAKER_08For all you first that don't know, Twilight is this big beautiful bunny.
SPEAKER_10He's a uh big purple and white bunny. He's got seven white stars on him. I thought seven is magical, and I made him at some point I found out later that there was a book called Twilight, and it was just before the movie had come out, and it's like no. And it was this is before the G4 of the My Little Pony, so he predates Twilight Sparkle.
SPEAKER_08Oh, okay. So Twilight Sparkle actually is uh like ripped off of your bun, I think.
SPEAKER_10I don't know. They probably have had her in production in from before then, and I just didn't know about it. Parallel Evolution, as they say.
SPEAKER_08Parallel evolution. So uh we kind of um well, you kind of hit on this before, so now we'll really get into it. So on our show, on the BFFT show, um, season six, episode 22, for all you first that would like to hear us talk about it. We talked about Richter on your show be on our show because of an article from Coyote Media, which is a weekly newspaper based in San Francisco Bay Area. The article was titled Bay Area Sports Mascots, ranked by the Ultimate Experts. Furries! Woo! Well, the the the title didn't have woo woo in it, that was just me. Anyway, so Richter was rated number one. Woo! And um, so tell us more about Richter and how it felt to be rated number one.
SPEAKER_10I'm really surprised that uh people remember him because he was only the he was the mascot for the earthquakes for only two seasons, 2000 and 2001. It came about in 2000 that the San Jose Clash, uh, one of the original teams of the major of Major League Soccer, uh, wanted to reinvent themselves, so uh rebranded as the San Jose Earthquakes, harkening back to the San Jose Quakes of the National American North American Soccer League uh from the 70s. And with that, they uh wanted a whole new identity and the what they went with as far as mascot is uh they went with a puppy. He's just an overdriven puppy in cyber gear, cyber armor. He looks like a open-faced stormtrooper with puppy face. I had uh just come off of uh in 99, I was the backup and game day escort for the San Francisco Giants mascot, Lu Seel. Uh after that, I was looking around for uh this is after that in 2000, I contacted Earthquakes and asked them what the new logo and team name do you have the mascot? And they brought me in. I got to check out their uh mascot. It was a surprise just seeing this really cute face with this pretty cool snazzy sci-fi armor on him. And I just like fell in love with him. But the cute face and the fluffy tail, and uh, it was uh just he was a lot of fun. I'm gonna say that he really struck a chord with me that uh I get to invent this character uh because he's just a just a face on paper and it's just a figure I had to breathe life into him. And over two seasons, uh it it just uh was magical, just creating this character, establishing him in the community. Uh for a season we ended up finishing last and we were almost eliminated from the league because they were they were losing money. And San Jose is a very tough market with all the sports teams in the area. Uh soccer is a tough sell, especially because you they don't stop the action, you can't put commercial breaks in there. Yeah. And I was almost going to quit. And the Sharks organization kind of adopted the earthquakes and uh brought in some new new direction, new talent, including soccer star Lendon Donovan, who went on for Team USA and other great things. And we turned things around in the 2001 season, uh, we're the champions. I got and I've got a picture of Richter hoisting the MLS Cup, which is not actually a cup.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_10Okay. Then again, neither is the World Cup. It's a big lump of gold.
SPEAKER_12Yeah. Is it is it more work to be at a con as a furry or to be as an escort for a sports team or a mascot for a sports team?
SPEAKER_10Uh they're they're a lot different. Uh when you're uh sports mascot, you're you're either at an appear uh at a game doing the entire game uh of and the set appearances that you do, and it's it's down to different things that uh you do for in baseball. You uh go out, you're often involved in the between inning breaks. I had uh as an escort, I held a radio that is in contact with the promotions department so I could get uh Lu Seal to where he needed to be during the course of the game uh to do whatever promotions or or or whatnot. And it also made me I got to dress up and be kind of the stooge to take the Pratt fall. Uh opening day in '99, he asked me to bring uh bring Yippie and deck me out with some cowboy boots and big foam cowboy hat. And I was like the fake San Diego Padres mascot who uh was dressed up as uh uh a country star because I I think uh during that season uh who's the one who sings uh got friends in low places? Garth Brooks? Yes. He he was actually playing for the uh the Padres at the time, so that became the root of that parody there. And uh playing for the par he was on the Padres team? Uh I believe so. Really? I don't know if he's like a regul was a regular at the time or just like uh you know honorary one game, one one game to say that he was part of the team. Uh one game wonder.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_12Oh, be darned.
SPEAKER_10But uh Lucille's a big uh wrestling fan, and so he delivered stone called Steve Austin's finishing move, The Stunner, and I got to take that multiple times in multiple games. I even even built a uh fake Philly fanatic who took uh who took it as well in the rare time that the Phillies played. He brought it back in 2012, I think, during the playoffs when they were up against Philly.
SPEAKER_08Oh, you first um go um do some digging and check all that out. That sounds very, very uh cool and exciting.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I should write articles about this sort of thing.
SPEAKER_08You really should. You totally should, because this is you mentioned something about furry history and stuff, and and definitely you're you're definitely part of that. It should be recorded. Uh barely kind of hit on this, and so I'd like to explore this a little bit more. So, what fur cons then do you typically typically go to and what do you typically like to do with them?
SPEAKER_10Well, uh further confusion, fur con is uh in my backyard here in San Jose. That's where I met you, I think. Yep, yep. I also go to PawCon, which is uh at the old San Jose Double Tree by the airport where FC used to be up until 2009. Yeah. And it's a fun party con. Just go and enjoy the the epic room parties they have there with a shared balcony. And beyond that, I just started attending uh the new furring uh the new Furlingame convention. Uh from uh yeah, it's it based in Burlingame, California, which is just in the shadow of the SFO airport. And it's it occupies the time slot that uh uh uh a Brony convention had uh taken up on Easter weekend, which I've never gotten to do because I'd always been busy with Easter stuff. It just uh so happened that I I got the chance to go this year and uh had a great time. Nice. Nice.
SPEAKER_08And I that's it, but I've seen and met you and seen you and everything at other cons. Where else have is it only FC?
SPEAKER_10For the moment these days, my day job got downsized in uh a couple years ago, and uh it's been tough trying to find work. I've been living off of savings and uh pretty much in a uh almost a forced retirement kind of thing. The job market is really rough right now. Also, I am I'm taking uh art commissions. I have a few slots available, just doing kind of odds and ends, a little first repairs for people, that sort of thing.
SPEAKER_08So I have to ask then. So tell all our listeners what where can we find examples of your art? How can we commission them, and how can we find information about how to uh get some refurbishing for um suits and stuff?
SPEAKER_10Well, I haven't like officially taken open for uh refurbishing commissions, it's just I'm doing stuff for friends. Okay. Uh some of them uh in in trade in barter for like you know, buy me lunch and I'll I'll uh fix that hole in your paw there. But as far as artwork, uh I haven't updated in a while, but uh I've got a uh fur affinity account. Okay. It's under fur for fur affinity. or it's under the the the name Yippie. Y I Y Double P double E.
SPEAKER_08Okay. And so um if furries are interested, they can just go there and hit you up on there and um take it from there. Very, very exciting, good stuff. So that naturally segues into my next question, which is what is your favorite furry movie and TV series?
SPEAKER_10Hmm. The movie that most affected me at the time that I found furry was Who Framed Roger Rabbit. From from eight from '88, and I found Furry in 1990. And uh that's kind of what's led me to start my journey as a rabbit character. Oh, okay. Only portrayed him on the on the game online game FurryMuck.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_10I don't know if y'all have heard about that one.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_12So uh so Yippie, what uh what is it about the fandom that uh that keeps you active in the fandom?
SPEAKER_10Well, I found furry originally through uh through my artwork. I've done cartooning from for a while. And in '94, when um Robert King had started the fursuit mailing list, I was one of the first people on it. That uh kind of sparked my love of uh of uh fursuiting. Since I hadn't had the chance to be a mascot or a theme park character, aside from auditioning at uh the University of Florida uh as Albert the Alligator. I didn't get it at the time. It's probably just as well because uh I'm almost flunked out of engineering. So uh in 96, that's when I built Yippie. And that that love of just becoming this this mascot character, when I get into first suit, it just it just be I become the character. I a good thing is to look at yourself in the mirror, see who is staring back, what they're all about. And I love just doing that and telling people about doing that, how did how that happens, and you get character inspiration that way, and see things yes, the magic.
SPEAKER_12Now, a lot of people that are furry are what I like to call closeted furries, they they're not out to their to their friends or family. So, what's the strangest reaction you've had from somebody when you told them you were a furry?
SPEAKER_10Think I've mostly sidestepped the question for for a lot of folks. And uh I um probably best. I have told people I do uh freelance mascotting in the Bay Area. It's kind of that kind of covers it. And people ask, where are you going this weekend? And uh I tell them, uh, just going out of town, see some friends. Yeah. Yep. At this convention, but I don't say that.
SPEAKER_07Quote unquote, at this convention.
SPEAKER_12Yes, yes, yes, yes. Tabin, any other questions uh for Yippy before we ask for his parting shot?
SPEAKER_08Um, one question I would love to know, and I'm sure all our listeners would like to know. What is your absolute favorite song of all time? And I do you love how I gave you no chance to even think about that.
SPEAKER_10It's by the Electric Light Orchestra. The song Twilight.
SPEAKER_08Okay. That is so okay. That that makes so much sense. I'm gonna write that down and check it out. It's by uh what did you say by the electric orchestra?
SPEAKER_10E electric light or uh orchestra. Yes, awesome.
SPEAKER_08Okay, I did it. I did it. Okay, okay. Yes, you did it.
unknownGood boy.
SPEAKER_12So what we ask we ask all of our guests what your parting shot is. Your words of wisdom to the fandom. If you had to give everybody some words of wisdom, what would it be?
SPEAKER_10Uh be safe, have fun, enjoy fan enjoy what furry has to offer. Try and try everything. I think furry is a relatively safe place to explore, discover, and event who you are. That's pretty much what life is about. Very true. Figuring out who you are.
SPEAKER_12Very true, very true. I don't think anybody ever figures it out until well, I don't think anybody ever actually ever figures out who they are or what they are. So you're constantly we're constantly reinventing ourselves. Yeah. So but yeah, you're right.
SPEAKER_08Especially Yippie with uh 21st suits.
SPEAKER_10That's I still haven't figured out who I am.
SPEAKER_08Apparently not. Wow. Uh you you gotta work on that there, uh Yippee.
SPEAKER_10They're the faces of the strangers, and we love to try them on. Oh, I like that line. I like that line.
SPEAKER_08Oh, we'll make uh barely make sure to put that as a quote on the website. That's a very nice quote there.
SPEAKER_10There we go. Uh it's by Billy Joel from the song The Stranger.
SPEAKER_08Oh, I was that makes me so sad. I thought it was like a yippie original, but no. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_12I knew that was I knew that was Billy Joel as soon as he said it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_12Barely knows what's up.
SPEAKER_08My dreams have been shattered, but that's okay. That's okay.
SPEAKER_10You can have more dreams. You can have more dreams.
SPEAKER_08Oh, good. Dream all you want. Dream all I want. Okay.
SPEAKER_12Well, thanks for joining us on the show. Uh, it's uh great to talk to furries out there, especially um I'm gonna call you an old school furry because you're clearly from beginning days, so to speak.
SPEAKER_10I I use the term silver muzzle. Silver muzzle.
SPEAKER_12I like it, yes.
SPEAKER_10Not grey, distinctly from uh gray muzzle, because it's uh yeah, people have varying definitions. Some say it's like, you know, you're 27. You're you're a gray muzzle. And here I am. I'm uh 58. Kid, I got fursuits older than you.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, yeah. I don't have any fursuits, but I'm definitely a gray muzz, that's for sure. Well, thanks again for coming on the show. Hope that you had a good time. Uh hope you listen to the show when you can.
SPEAKER_08I just want to say yes, so uh really, really good to see you again, uh Yippy. Um, it's been a long time. I was looking back at our telegram chat. You first said hi to me like in 2018 or something. Yeah, it's been a while, so it's really good to uh catch up and see you again and see how things are going. And um, I can't wait to hopefully see you at a con again someday.
SPEAKER_12Keep in touch
:05 Storytime
SPEAKER_12interesting interview, I would have to say. Taben! Hi! Do you have a story for us? I do. Would you like to read it for us?
SPEAKER_07I would. Okay, that'd be great. That'd be awesome.
SPEAKER_12That'd be awesome. Otherwise, it's just gonna be the next uh eight minutes of dead air for people to listen to this.
SPEAKER_08I mean, I do.
SPEAKER_02He's reading it right. He was reading it and uh he's gonna be like the end. Allowed.
SPEAKER_11Allowed, allowed.
SPEAKER_08So this uh is um well so Barley recommended a few uh books for me to read, and this is um an offshoot of one of them. I don't really know what I mean by that, but there it is. Anyway, this book is called Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus. No, don't just don't do it, don't do it.
SPEAKER_09And it starts out by saying, hi, I'm the bus driver.
SPEAKER_08Listen, I've got to leave for a little while, so can you watch things for me until I get back? Thanks. Oh, and remember, don't let the pigeon drive the bus.
SPEAKER_12Good advice.
SPEAKER_08So that is all of ours. So this is interactive here. So this is all of our job to not let the pigeon drive the bus. Are we ready? Okay. We're ready.
SPEAKER_07Awesome.
SPEAKER_08Okay. So uh the bus driver's uh leaving, and pigeon comes in and says, I thought he'd never leave. And he's just standing there minding his own business, and then he says, Hey, can I drive the bus?
SPEAKER_05And we say No No, you cannot drive the bus.
SPEAKER_08And then Pigeon says, Please? And we say, No, no, but I'll be careful.
SPEAKER_05No, no, no, no. Definitely, I'll tell you what.
SPEAKER_08I'll just steer. No, steer. Well, my cousin Herb drives a bus almost every day. True story! No So Pigeon's just kind of just standing there looking all like frustrated. Oh, then he starts running around broom vroom vroom me vroom we vroom vroom pigeon at the wheel. And we say no Pigeon does not get to drive the and pigeon says no. I never get to do anything. He looks all sad. Hey, I've got an idea. Let's play drive the bus. I'll go first. No. We say no, no. Come on, just once around the block. No. Okay, now he's actually really getting desperate. We've gotta hold our ground here. I'll be your best friend. No! How about I give you five bucks? Not even if you gave me seven uh deer there, pigeon. No. No, no, no, no, no, no. No, no. Pigeon says, No fair. I bet your mom would let me. I mean, what's the big deal? Out it's just a bus. I have dreams, you know. No. Pigeon is down. It's there huffing. It's just fine. And then. And then Pigeon goes crazy, flapping all around and tweeting and yelling, let me drive the bus!
SPEAKER_12No. No. No, no. Good for us.
SPEAKER_08We're standing our ground. No, pigeon. So pigeon is just standing there looking all yeah. And then the bus driver comes back and says, I'm back. You didn't let the pigeon drive the bus, did you? No. And we say not. And bus driver says, Great. Thanks a lot. And Pigeon, Pigeon is thinking, what's he doing? Pigeon is thinking, uh-oh. Because then the bus driver drives away with the with the bus and says, bye. And pigeon looks sad, but then Pigeon sees a big red shiny truck. And Pigeon says, hey! And then he's got all these dreams of the big red shiny truck. And that concludes, I guess it's up to our imaginations to see what happens next. But that concludes not letting the pigeon drive the bus. And we did a good job. Yay!
SPEAKER_02Is there a second volume? There's actually several of them. So uh yeah. Tabin Tabin only has one volume loud.
:07 Shameless Plugs
SPEAKER_08That that is that is true.
SPEAKER_12That's very true.
unknownVery true.
SPEAKER_12That's very true. Well, that takes us up to our shameless plugs. So okay. Uh want to mention the good furry awards. We finally received your nomination for the first time in our existence. Yay!
SPEAKER_09Yay! Thank you. Any of you folks that nominated us, you're amazing and wonderful Woohoo!
SPEAKER_12Now go vote for us. Nomination is only half the battle. That's right. That's right. It's an honor to be nominated. Well, it's a win. It is. It's an honor to win, but it's the anyway. Um and then, of course, I have Royal Highness, the other podcast on the network.
