:00 Opening and Welcome

SPEAKER_10

All of us. But anyway, so I heard uh recently that due to the mass cancellations of the 250 State Fair that's gonna happen in uh DC this summer, a lot of performers uh have canceled, so they're forming some new groups to perform. The first one is gonna be Lady MAGA, and then we have the Red Hat Chili Poppers, MAGA Death is gonna perform, along with Impeaches and Herb, the Magas The Magas and the Papas, Earthwind and You're Fired, and of course Stupid Trump. So you know, those those groups are gonna perform instead. And uh you've all heard about Pop Tarts, right?

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, of course, absolutely sure.

SPEAKER_10

Do you know why there are no mom tarts? Well, because of the because of the pastriarchy that was stupid. And uh you know, I went I went to the store to get a new desk and I was complaining to my hubby about having to carry it upstairs in the box. He says, When I'm on my way home to pick him up and he could help, I looked at him and I says, but you're heavier than the box. Okay. But but enough of this tomfoolery, and before we get started, let me show you the jubly bubbly's roll the music. Well, greetings and move arc fluff to all the creatures in the potiverse. I am barely, you are listening to Barely for a casting featuring Tabe in the show that asks the question why is it called a building if it's complete? Shouldn't it be called a built? Good question. Absolutely, I agree. I I know you took my dozen understanding. It's a Metro Life. I don't know what that means. Uh coming coming to you from around the globe and across the universe, we have Rain, TikTok, Chitaro, and Ziggy. How are all of you? Doing good. Fluffy!

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, post fluffy. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_10

Post excellent on a warm day. Awesome, awesome. And of course, the show would not be the show without Tabin. How the fluff are you today, Tabin? Whoa. Your whoa, okay. And it's surrounded.

SPEAKER_03

I I feel very wo-test. Oh, I don't even know what's going on, so I'll just say time for Jesse for a walk. And how you should do about English. Oh my cow. I I am scared with how this episode's gonna go already.

SPEAKER_10

Be scared. Be scared. Uh I of course, this is our season finale. We have concluded six years of this podcast. Wow. And six years ago.

SPEAKER_03

I heard that, Ziggy.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, he got the bunk. Uh six years ago, we were still on the grip of the COVID 19 lockdown. Uh, the Cheeto was in the White House for the first time. People still liked Elon Muskie because he was still sane.

SPEAKER_02

No, he wasn't.

SPEAKER_10

The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl, and no one had really heard of Travis Kelsey. We launched our first BFFT on May 20th, 2020. And for the first year, we had maybe 30 listeners. We used to joke about having our one listener. Yeah. Fur can fur cons were canceled all around the world, and a small California Bay Area company exploded from just the Bay Area to worldwide dominance due to the pandemic. That would, of course, be Instacart. And uh which I still use several times a month. In fact, I use it today. Wow. What were all of you doing six years ago besides being locked down?

SPEAKER_09

Uh starting to work on a little podcast. A little podcast. That had like maybe 30 listeners.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, yes, you did. Yeah. Did it turn into anything good? I'll let you know.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Well, six years for me from six years for me, it was like um all I was doing is playing video games and being depressed in my basement. Ah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. I will say the motorcycling was off the scale. There was no cars on the road.

SPEAKER_09

Just well, of course, that's that's how that's how you well, that's how I met you and Barely because we went on that motorcycle ride.

SPEAKER_07

I was taking driving lessons. And I didn't crush. So hurray for me.

SPEAKER_10

Hooray for me. Hooray!

SPEAKER_03

Hooray.

SPEAKER_10

Taben, what were you doing six years ago?

SPEAKER_03

Um Chase's little podcast. Yeah, I think that's about I I think I started a podcast with um some wonderful bear. That's all I can say. Ah, yes.

SPEAKER_10

And everybody learned how to use Zoom for the very first time five years ago.

SPEAKER_09

Oh, yeah. So much Zoom. We all had the Zoomies.

SPEAKER_03

We had the Zoomies, yes.

SPEAKER_10

Yes, yes, yes. Of course. You still have the Zoomies. We do. Uh listeners, next week we'll be watching the Marx Brothers movie Animal Crackers. We're actually going to watch it and comment as it is being played. So if you want to see us uh talk about the movie as we're watching it, it'll be on YouTube. And then the week after that, we'll back. We'll what you should do about English. Uh then the week after that, we'll be back with our season seven premiere.

:14 Things Taebyn Doesn't Understand

SPEAKER_10

Now, Tabin, is there anything you don't understand?

SPEAKER_03

How have you all survived me for six years?

SPEAKER_09

You're assuming lots of alcohol and lots of drugs. Yes, that's the only answer. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Now I know the answer to that question.

SPEAKER_04

And you think my bottle is just full of water. No, it's full of ice.

SPEAKER_07

Hydration is key. Oh, and avocados. Lots of avoiding.

SPEAKER_10

And avocados. Yeah, avocados. Avocado water. Oh, that just sounds terrible. It does sound terrible.

SPEAKER_03

That does not sound applicable.

SPEAKER_10

It's not like cucumber water, which is refreshing and sweet, but uh avocado water.

SPEAKER_07

You can make avocados modies. Yeah, oh yeah, you can do that. That's true.

SPEAKER_10

Avocado water just doesn't sound good. Just doesn't sound good at all. Uh Tabin, now what is it you put up in the top of our of our script there? It says you took out my don't understand or doesn't.

SPEAKER_03

That's because like there's been several times over the course of the last six years that in various ways I have asked about why do they call it a building when it's already been built? Have you? Yes, and one of my things I don't understand was why do they call it a building when it has and it's usually been paired with why do they why do you drive on a parkway but park on a driveway? Yeah. And there were other things. Anyway, that's never it doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_10

That was but we did ask the question, and so that that's a true statement.

SPEAKER_03

That is a true the statement is a true thing that happened, all you furs that was a thing that was true, and it happened. And again, I continue to not want to un know how this episode is going to be with me around this whole thing.

SPEAKER_09

Well, we here at BFFT are firmly uh connected to recycling and will always recycle a joke.

SPEAKER_10

I mean how many have you recycled? We have over over 300, so I think yeah, at least over 300. Way too many. Way, way too many. Way too many. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Or not enough, depending on how you look at it.

SPEAKER_10

I suppose. I suppose to come. You just watch after we're all dead and gone. This podcast will be picked up and make millions of dollars for somebody because yeah, like it was so weird and crazy, and these people

:17 Syndication Discussion

SPEAKER_10

are all long gone.

SPEAKER_07

So I can do whatever I want with it. Yay for syndication.

unknown

Yay!

SPEAKER_10

Right. Yeah. I mean, if we were if we were syndicated, we would have been syndicated a long time ago because you only need a hundred episodes to get syndication.

SPEAKER_03

So well, we're all what was that word for skinication or something? I don't know. For syndication?

SPEAKER_04

For skinication. Ooh, woo. What happens in a brisk?

SPEAKER_03

Wait, what? Force I don't know word. I'm gonna have to go look this up. Syndication. Syndication. Syndication. And what does that mean?

SPEAKER_10

Something about Sandy. I don't know her. No, it's it's for television series in the old days of non-streaming. Um if a television series made it to a hundred episodes, they could get syndication, which means then it's available to the lesser channels where they can run reruns over and over and over again. Oh use it for stuff. And it's that was the moneymaker for the shows was to reach that hundreds of episodes.

SPEAKER_09

Each station paid for each station paid for rights, syndication rights and and all that stuff. So it was it was a big business. You usually make more in syndication than you did on the first airing. Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

So like when you're watching old episodes of Gilligan's Island or the the Dick Finn Dyck Show. The Dick Finn Dyke Show, those are all in syndication, and the television station had to pay money for the rights to broadcast it. CEU earned like lots of CEUs right there.

SPEAKER_07

Yes, absolutely. Now that's power.

SPEAKER_10

Now the first word you asked about force syndication. I'm not sure what force genocation, I don't know what that is, but we could probably submit that to the lexicon.

SPEAKER_04

I think it's what happens when you get a have a briss. Yes.

SPEAKER_10

Oh, yes. That'd be a force kinectomy. Oh, that's probably true.

SPEAKER_03

Now already there's two more words I have to look up.

SPEAKER_07

No, no, don't look it up. Don't look it up. Don't look it up right now.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, not that it's gonna change your algorithms much. I'll just give you that. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Um having seen your algorithm response on your

:14 Furlandia Recap

SPEAKER_10

some of your stuff. Anyway, uh, let's get to our Firlandia recap because we are all finally recovered over Ferlandia. And if anybody has tried to reach out to me on Telegram for the last week, I consciously made an effort to not look at Telegram for at least a week because I didn't want to get overwhelmed with everything that's going on. Because, well, as we will talk later, you will find out that things can get a little overwhelming.

SPEAKER_07

So we want to reach out for your car insurance.

SPEAKER_10

No, no, no, no. Car insurance. I want to no carney insurance, he said.

SPEAKER_03

Carney insurance. So that that's so that must be have to do with um grade A beef, because it's carn inside.

SPEAKER_10

Carney is dark. Um for responsibility. Do you do you really? Um there's that. There's a first time for everything. For Landia took place uh two weeks ago, and uh it was great. We had a great super turnout. We outgrew the facility, and the very first time we're there, it was amazing. Um, to be perfectly honest, we had that hotel packed wall to wall and uh nuts to butts, I tell you. It was all over the place there. Um my job at Furlandia this year was the logistics chair, which means as I was lied to when I signed up for it, they said all you have to do is bring the stuff to the hotel and then take it back to the storage shed. Well, there's a lot more to it than that. And um so we we we got there, we unloaded the truck, and the plan was, and I told everybody we're gonna stage it in this area. When I get back from picking up the driver after parking it, we can figure out where things go, and then I'll know where everything is. When I got back, everything was gone. Of course. And immediately people start asking me, where's this? Where's that? Where's this? Where's that? I was like, how the F should I know y'all move shit when I won around? I have no idea where it went.

SPEAKER_03

Consequently, and you said don't do that, don't do that.

SPEAKER_10

And consequently, several things that uh we couldn't find throughout the conference. Guess what? We found as we were loading the truck to leave, and I knew we would because yep, I knew we would. Yep, yay! And of course, we had some crazy people show up, and uh one person tried to steal some badges and play with the computer, and and um then he got crazy and faked a heart attack and got the ambulance called, and that broke up registration, and it was just oy oi-oy. And of course, the bathroom in the hotel, there was no door on the bathroom, none of the bathrooms had doors on it. Yeah, it was very strange. Yeah, it was very strange. You had a you had a door to the shower, and then you had a door to the bat to the toilet, and then you had the sink in the middle, and then that was it.

SPEAKER_07

There was no plan, that's for you. Yes, it's like okay.

SPEAKER_04

Well, there is that wonderful door that went from the front entrance of your hotel to where your bed was that would slide.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, partition.

SPEAKER_04

Partition. But why? Yeah, exactly. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Well, my uh my hypothesis was that you could wave to your roommate while they're taking a shower.

SPEAKER_10

I guess. Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Like, hi, how you doing? How you doing in there?

SPEAKER_09

At least it's not like the hotel I had in Malaysia where uh the shower wall was a glass window into the room. Oh. Oh my. That was it. You know, it was you could see everything. Whoever was taking a shower was on full display. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I have one of those in my own house. It's kind of fun.

SPEAKER_09

But yeah, usually don't find those in hotels.

SPEAKER_10

No.

SPEAKER_09

That's true, especially high-end hotels, right?

SPEAKER_10

That's true. I I may leave this last bit for for Tabin, but uh, if we don't get to it now, we'll talk about it later. Me jubbly bubbly's.

SPEAKER_09

So okay. Yes. Having seen Austin Powers, I am intrigued. Uh-huh. Yes. Yes. All right. Yes.

SPEAKER_10

But honestly, I had a great time at Ferlandia. It was one of the best cons I've been to in a long time. I have to say, the organization was spot on. Everybody had a great time. Everybody had a super wonderful experience. Few people complained about things at the at the bitch and moan or the hiss and purr as they like to call it. Which was funny because our illustrious chairman, Chitaro, started that meeting with, We know this, we know this, we know this, we know this. Let's talk about things we don't know. And immediately the first three people talked about things that he just said we know about.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Oh, yeah. And you handled it so diplomatically. I would have just looked at them and went, We already said we know about this.

SPEAKER_04

Well, what did Chitar say? You know, it it's kind of like when when you start off with problems that you know and you try to say, Hey, let's try to talk about other things, and they say, Oh, well, here's a problem that you already know, but I want to talk more about. You say, Well, thank you for your time, and thank you for letting us know. I appreciate your perspective on this. And, you know, and and I think I handle it pretty well. You know, I I I was told I was told by two other people that were in that room besides Barley that that I did an excellent job in terms of wrangling the people, um, so to speak, because there was a lot of wrangling that needed to happen.

SPEAKER_10

There was usually is. And I'll tell you, I uh it was very hard for me to roll my eyes without rolling my eyes.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Well, well, you know, the the the fact is that, you know, um be being the chairperson of an event is rather interesting. And the the fact is that I was asked by a half a dozen different people, things like, did it take you long to be able to organize this event? And I'd like, well, um, I started organizing this event in March of 2025. Before the previous for Landia? Yeah, yeah. And so it's kind of like um, if I had to add the number of hours that I just put in for this con, it would be somewhere between and it would probably be a low guesstimation. 2,000 to 2,500 hours just for this con. You know, and people go, wow, isn't that like a full-time job? It's like, well, yes, yes, as a matter of fact. You know, but but I will say, I will say that I was humbled by a lot of people's comments about about Furlandia. You know, the fact that number one, that we had two other con chairs at my at Forlandia this year. And that was because of me. Um one of which was uh Baphnetti from Get Out the Float, and the other is Gabriel from Anthro Northwest. Um, they both were at my uh at our little convention here in Portland. Um and unfortunately, we can't say little anymore because our total attendance this year, for anybody out there that did not hear uh in terms of our attendance, was 4,395 people.

SPEAKER_05

Wow. Amazing.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and and that's only that's only and Tabin will will will appreciate this. That's only a 60% increase over last year's numbers of 2,724. Only 60%. Now here's the ironic part. Here's the ironic part. At the Sheraton, we had over 22,500 square foot feet of space, okay, total. At the Hyatt Regency, we had almost 34,000 square foot of space. That's 50% more than we had last year. Okay, so 50% more space and 60% more people. So when you take those numbers and you look at it, you go, okay, did we break the hotel? And I don't mean break in terms of the aspect of actually physically breaking anything, I just mean in terms of the fact that there were so many people there that it was like, uh, you know, it was elbows to assholes, in all honesty.

SPEAKER_03

You know, considering last year at the Sheridan, how it was definitely broken then already. And now we have another 10% of that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and so so what was really fun is, you know, with with Jonah Scott and and uh Griffin Poatu uh being our guest of honor, Jonah actually had a contract and he was supposed to be there. Griffin just kind of wanted to be there, and we allowed him to be, of course. They both had an excellent time, but I need to tell you this small little story that was kind of funny because when we signed Jonah Scott up, we were told that we had to pay him a certain amount of money for him being there, right? And and you know, it's like okay, we can do that. And we give him this money, you know. I'm not gonna mention how much it is because that's unimportant, but we give him this money in cash, by the way. In cash, by the way. We give him this money in cash, and and he says, and they said, Thank you, thank you very much. Well, Friday happened and it's over, and that evening, um, Jonah's girlfriend, Jalitza, comes up to to uh my treasurer and hands him an envelope with that amount of cash in it, saying, Here, this is for you. And he goes, Why are you giving this to me? He says, Well, because accord she said, according to the contract, you're supposed to guarantee that Jonah makes this much money uh in in his contract. So, so like I'm just gonna say, you know, if it was a thousand dollars, then he had to make a thousand dollars. And if he didn't make a thousand dollars, we had to make up the difference. Well, here's the thing. She gave the money. It was not very clear, no. No, but she gave him this money on Friday night, okay, and said to him that Jonah has already made so much money he is fifty dollars away from that amount that you were supposed to guarantee for him. Now, I will tell you that I did am also not going to disclose how much money they actually made over the weekend, but they they made, you know, five figures easy, you know, in terms of just signing their names. Yep. And selling their money. And so and yeah, and stuff. And so so they enjoyed themselves immensely. And and and the fact is that, you know, so many people had such a good time. I mean, w we we had a escape room there called Twisted Tails Escape Room, uh, that were there. Now I was told by two different members of my staff, we don't need to have that, that's a bunch of crap, you know, nobody's gonna do that, and so on and so on and so forth. Well, I put my foot down and said, no, no, no, this is going to be big. It's gonna be so big you're not even gonna understand how big it is. So uh Twisted Tails agreed to give us five dollars to our charity for every person who uh who went through their escape room. They ended up giving our charity a thousand dollars. Whoa. Nice. Okay, so you can imagine, you know, in terms of that, that that's an exorbitant amount of money just just for that. Now, the good part is is that we actually raised money for our charity too, which was the Pixie Project, which takes care of uh homeless dogs and cats and gives them a place and a place to go and stuff like that until they transition to a new home. And we actually made for them, in addition to the $1,000 that Twisted Tails gave, we we are giving them $5,653. So so to be honest, this is the first time in Forlandia's history that we actually ended up actually physically. Making money for a charity that we actually have in our event. Because in the past, it's like, oh, we're not collecting money for this event, so we're just going to give this event a thousand dollars or two thousand dollars or whatever type thing, you know, just because we want to have them be happy. Well, this is the first time we're actually giving money to the charity that is actual money from our attendees, which is kind of a fun thing. But uh but we also, in terms of numbers, we had 525 uh people in fursuits at the fursuit parade, you know, um even though there was probably yeah, the fursuit loop, you know. Um they didn't want the fursuiters to go down the escalator because they were afraid that people would hurt themselves or hurt their suits and things of that nature, so that's why it was kept on the second floor. But in the future, it's a possibility wherever we might be that it could be a lot bigger space. So that's a good thing, right? Yes. Um, you know, but but we had lots of fun. I I I unfortunately made a half a dozen people cry now in a good way, not in a bad way. Um because uh so many people, it was their first con. I mean, we had we had over probably about 40 percent minimum of our attendees were first time coming to Ferlani. And yeah, and so it's it's amazing to think that you know, just because of advertising and stuff of that nature on social media, that you actually get people to come to somewhere. Who knew, right? Yeah, yeah. But but I do want to say that I had a lot of fun, you know, even after because there were a couple of room parties, one of which I had to tort uh had to the unfortunateness of tearing down, and one that I actually explained to them to say, hey, you need to do these rules that I'm gonna doubt now tell you so your room party is successful and not shut down. So so it's kind of like it was really funny because you know, the one that I shut down, there were actually three staff members in that room. Oh no. Yeah, yeah. But you know, I'm not going to name names, of course, but you know, it's it's like okay, they I embarrassed them in regards to that. But you know, hey, don't be noisy, don't get complaints from your from your fellow people on the same floor, especially two, then you wouldn't have gotten closed down. You know, but or do like what others did and actually had a calm party with no noise and stuff, because there are those possibilities, yeah, right? Yeah, so so yeah, so it it was fun. We we enjoyed ourselves immensely, and so uh I I'm still answering emails and like barely I've been trying my best to stay away from Furlandia every day since Furlandia, but every day something major has come up and I have not been able to rest or relax. But that's and the aspect of being the con chair, I guess. And because you're the con chair again next year. And I'm the con chair again next year, yeah. And so uh that's that's something uh that we'll talk about later, of course. Of course, yes, yeah.

SPEAKER_10

TikTok, how was your Ferlandia? You looked very tired and sweaty most of the times I saw you. Uh you did for sure.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's that's pretty typical. Um yeah, yeah. Uh let's see, the fermination um of the hotel was pretty off the scale. Seemingly overnight there was an explosion of furries, colors, and fun times packing the hallways and rooms. Let's see, there is an uh did an unbelievable amount of running around to keep things running for the IT stuffs, um, although I certainly wasn't the only staff member doing that. Uh would love to give major props to Beans, Zach, and Dan for their incredible IT assistance and clever solutions to problems that seemed insurmountable a few months ago. Also, Queen Vital for her help and loaned IT gear. That was yes, we had very, very few IT actual problems. So, and that was a surprise. See, my first suiting panel went well, it was standing room only. Nice. I I arrived 10 minutes.

SPEAKER_04

And unfortunately, I had to push him out. Unfortunately, he could have gone another 10, 20 minutes and he would have easily.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I arrived 10 minutes early. The room was already packed, I couldn't get in. Wow, and I said something along the lines of uh holy effing something.

SPEAKER_09

This was my fair this is what your fourth or fifth time doing it now.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, fifth, fifth or sixth, maybe? Yeah, I mean, including get out the float.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Congrats. Yeah, thank you. But yeah, after my exclamation was heard, the other furries kind of realized that I was the one running the panel. And they're like, at first, they're like, Oh, uh, we could squeeze you in in this chair. Oh, wait, you're the person running the panel.

SPEAKER_09

Okay, yeah, you're sorry, there's no more room in here. You have to go somewhere else. Right.

SPEAKER_02

Well, then I just could have gone to the bar, right? You know, yeah, yes, sure. Give me your panel from there. Right, right. I'll just phone it in. Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Ooh, we should have a cocktail panel. Oh, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Interesting. It would have to be at the bar for the bar. Yes.

SPEAKER_10

We can have a cocktail panel at the bar.

SPEAKER_02

True, true. Uh, did lots of suiting photos and the coyote and protegen, ended up staying in suit Sunday from the first suit parade in the morning to my panel in the afternoon.

SPEAKER_05

Wow. Wow.

SPEAKER_10

You pulled the tape in.

SPEAKER_02

I did. Yeah. And lastly, I realized a thing while I was waiting for the group photo in my Progen suit. So there's this running joke in the Protogen community, you know, what do you call a group of Protagens? Okay.

SPEAKER_10

What do you call a group of Prodigens?

SPEAKER_02

And I just realized A serial? Uh well, there's a lot of things out there, but I realized what works. I think it works. To me, it does. Um, it's a panic. A panic.

SPEAKER_09

Okay. Panic of Prodigens. Right. Like a kernel panic.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly, because in the Unix Linux world, uh, a kernel panic is the equivalent of a blue screen or when your computer crashes and shuts down. And many Proutes are Unix Linux nerds. And also when we get together in suit, it can often be chaos. We don't see very well. We have like very little peripheral vision. We can see great, but it's like this little circle that I'm making with my four index fingers here, or index fingers and thumbs. There's no peripheral vision. We often have these big, heavy, oversized tails. We turn, we bash things, we run into each other. It's basically all the processes are just confused and bumping into each other and getting each other's ways. So it's a panic.

SPEAKER_09

That exactly sounds correct.

SPEAKER_10

So I think that uh that you should um on your head with the micro camera technology. I think you should just go full on uh Iron Man, where everything is a screen, a video screen inside your head with all the cameras all around you.

SPEAKER_02

A couple of people have achieved that. It's difficult. Yes.

SPEAKER_09

It is because of the frame rate problem. So so that's uh that's an issue that uh people who have been making like the Iron Man helmets and stuff. The frame rate problem is is uh a kind of an issue because you'll either get kind of queasy or you'll be moving, and of course the frame rate is the delay is so much that that you as you're walking, you'll start to to feel like you're like you're tripping.

SPEAKER_05

Or running into wheels.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, you have to have a really good, really good camera set up with a really good processor uh and really low latency.

SPEAKER_07

Otherwise bucking up cameras from the cars.

SPEAKER_09

No, those are even worse. Those are even worse.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, those are the cheapest cameras out there. All right, all right. Tavan, how was your Ferlandia?

SPEAKER_03

Hi. Well, it was it was great. Oh, and before before I talked a little bit about it, I when TikTok was talking about talking, haha, about how um he was running around and everything, that reminded me. So I think it was Thursday night. Me and my honey were walking around, and there goes TikTok and some some fur running, running, running. Okay, great. And then we went into our room because we were looking for um oh, the speakers for for my panels and stuff. And okay, well, we found them in there, and then I'm just and TikTok and the other fur happen to be in there doing stuff, and TikTok's obviously looking for something and very focused. And I'm in there and just barking all over the place because that's what I do. And then um, at one point, after I noticed, finally noticed that TikTok is focusing on something else. I said, Well, okay, we're gonna go now and not bother you anymore. And TikTok just he didn't even look at me, he was just focused on his thing, and all he said was yes. And so we left, and that was great. But yeah, so uh this was my 50th Furcon, which is very cool and exciting. My first Furcon was Ferlandia in 2016, so it came came around full circle. I didn't even try and do that, but that was very cool. I had 50th Fur Conniversary Taven chips made just for the occasion, and only yay! I made only 100. There's only a 100 in existence, and of course I'm not making any more because, well, it won't be 50th Furcon anymore. So if you um furs out there happen to get one of these rare chips, then you have a rare thing. But you are rare. But yeah, it was really good, as Tutaro said. Firlandia this year had 4,395, and Anthro Northwest this year had 3,466, so that's um 900 more, so that was great. Um, and we at the 4300 was only 100 away from catching up with Denver. So that was that's pretty. I would happen to look at some stuff.

SPEAKER_04

I will say that I was shocked to see that we moved all the way up to 13th, but you know, in all honesty, the numbers of of comparison that we don't really care about because that's immaterial, because absolutely it's not important.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but you know so you mentioned that, and just side note, so a closing ceremonies after I think they displayed it on the thing, or you said, or whatever, how how it's the 13th in the world, or no, you said it's the 13th. Sum for behind me said looking over to whoever he was sitting next to and said, Is that like in Oregon? No, no, no, no, no. Anyway, so um, yeah, that was very good. I met both Jonas Scott and Griffin Poitu. They were nice, nice peeps. Um, I gave them both a 50th for Conniversary Tabin chip. Um don't know if we're gonna I gave it I told them the story, so we'll see if they actually keep it. Um I got to hug them both, and I didn't even say, Can I have a hug? I just like did it. And they weren't scared, so that was exciting. Did you get your picture taken with them too, Tabin? I did not. Oh no. I'm sorry to hear that.

SPEAKER_10

I guess it didn't happen then. They'll be back next year.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I know. I saw that picture. What am I talking about? All you first can't see what I'm looking at, and what am I talking about? I'm talking about the picture. Chataro is holding up a picture with him and Jonah and Griffin, and he posted that in the BFFT telegram chat. So, all you first, if you want to see that picture, plug for our chat, make sure to join the telegram chat, the BFFT. This was Griffin's first FERCON, and um he said he had a really great experience. This was Jonah's fourth FERCON. And Chitaro, tell us what he said about it.

SPEAKER_04

So both Griffin and Jonah said that this was the best FurCon that they have ever been to.

SPEAKER_03

Well, this is Griffin's first, so I hope so.

SPEAKER_04

But yeah, um, well, that's true. But but Jonah specifically said that if he he's been he's been to, well, he told me he's been to a few.

SPEAKER_03

He didn't tell me how many, but um he's been to FWA, Megaplex, and some other big one, I forget.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, which which to be honest, those are massively large cons comparatively speaking to us. Oh, and AC, he's AC. Yeah, and so they're very much bigger than us. They're they're like at least you know three times bigger than us, if not more. And so so he's used to stuff like that, but he kind of liked the smaller the smaller con because he he he and his girlfriend come to Rose City Comic-Con every year. And so they're used to the aspect of coming to Portland. And and I told them whenever they are in Portland to reach out to me because I would be more than happy to uh to go out and spend some time with them because they are really awesome individuals.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, nice. Yeah, so it was very great to hear that he had um such a great time. Um and his fate his favorite, as Chitaro says, his favorite furcon so far. I also, of course, met our the other guest of honor, Kyle Gold. We had him on the show. So any of you first that have been listening to BFFT for since the beginning, you might remember we had Kyle Gold, um free novelist, on the show. On I didn't realize it was this long ago. All you first hold on, season one, episode 11. Yep. I didn't realize it was season one. So we had met him then, but I had not met him in the fluff. I got to hug him and everything, and that was great. And you know, it's like as if he had a choice. Of course, I hugged him, but um no, he he was great, and he remembered it's like I when I first saw him um whatever day it was, um I was talking to him and said, I don't know if you probably don't even remember me, but we had you on our podcast, and he immediately remembered me because he said he remembers words, which makes a lot of sense. And Taven is not a normal word, so he actually remembered or a normal pup.

SPEAKER_07

Yes, that's yes.

SPEAKER_03

He might remember something about that too. Um, during closing ceremonies, he was sitting next to me. Well, we were like on the corner, there was the aisle, and he was on uh one corner and I was on the other corner, so pretty much next to each other. Um, and then so Chitaro, of course, was talking about the guests of honors and thanking them and everything. And so when he was talking about Kyle Gold, um, Kyle um stood up and Charl and Chitaro talked about him and stuff. And when he got into talking about him, um, well, in fact, while he was talking to him, I ran over and gave Kyle a hug, because duh. Um, but then Chitaro was talking about um Kyle's partner, and when Chitaro got done talking about him, he ran over and gave me a hug. The table's gone. So tables were turned. Dun dun dun. Um but that's fun. Um and closing ceremonies was packed. Like how often at a fur con ceremonies. Usually it doesn't happen. No, no, but this was like it was standing room only. The whole thing was was filled, so it was really cool. Overall, this was a really great con. I had a really great time. This was barely as Barely was saying, everyone else seemed to just have a really great time, have a really good experience with the con. And this was just just so great. And to be a 50th con for me is just very, very special. Are you crying now? Are you kidding, Missy Tabin?

SPEAKER_10

No, you're crying.

:15 Furmations

SPEAKER_10

No, you're crying.

SPEAKER_04

No, no, definitely.

SPEAKER_10

I think we have spent enough time recapping uh Ferlandia, so let us move on to some formations, Tabin, and maybe that can help center you a bit.

SPEAKER_03

Center my tears of joy.

SPEAKER_05

Uh so for all you furs.

SPEAKER_03

That was a transition. Wow. For all you furs that don't know, I do this little segment called affirmations, where I read some things from animals about ways to to help your life be more fluff. I guess I don't even know what I'm saying. So the first one is the little doggy that says, I rest under the tree of life, feeling grounded and secure. And on the back it talks about nature connection. Spend time in nature, especially under large trees, and practice grounding techniques.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_09

Okay, but don't do that in the lightning because when it's lightning under a tree, you will be a grounding technique. Absolutely, yes.

SPEAKER_03

Truth be told, CEU burned.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

The next one is a looks like a Burmese mountain dog, which says No, that's a no, this is what's the one that does the um like in Bugs Bunny cartoons has the uh sheepdog? Saint Bernard. Saint Bernard. St. Bernard. Yeah, Saint Bernard.

SPEAKER_09

Yes, okay.

SPEAKER_03

Saint Bernard says, I offer strength to others and accept help graciously. Oh and on the back, it says, build your support network. Reach out to friends, family, or a support group when you need help, and be there for them when they need you. And the third affirmation for the week, there is a I'm not sure what kind of doggy it is. I've seen this doggy before, but I don't remember. But anyway, Doggy says, I reflect on my thoughts, finding clarity and peace. And on the back, it talks about a reflection ritual. Every evening, spend a few minutes reflecting on your day. Write down your thoughts, feelings, and any insights that you have gained.

:14 Media

SPEAKER_10

Wow, did you choke?

SPEAKER_03

I don't even know what happened there.

SPEAKER_10

All right. Uh of course I've been keeping up on uh RuPaul's Dry Grace and RuPar's RuPaul's Dry Grace Untucked. The other day I watched a very bizarre movie called Asteroid City. Now I don't remember what Network. I think I think it's 1S. And I think it's very um it's very surreal. It has Tom Hanks in it and a plethora of stars. I mean, there is there is a list of stars when they're rolling the the opening credits over the stuff, the stars are just scrolling up on the right hand side of the screen, and there's like 50 or 60 of them that are appearing in this movie, and there's just like it's just so, so weird. Uh and very sarcastic humor throughout. I mean, it it was right up my alley.

SPEAKER_06

Like movie 43?

SPEAKER_10

Say what?

SPEAKER_06

Like movie 43? Uh no. Definitely no.

SPEAKER_10

No, no, no, not like that. No. I'm also uh into season two of Stargate Atlantis, you know, the weekly battle against the Wraith. And uh the hubby and I are trying to finish Invasion, which is the Apple series, and we are revisiting some of the series we started years ago and never finished, like Castle Rock, Sandman, and 112263. So um with with the summertime coming and shows not new shows not being released, we're gonna try and catch up on some of those older series that we started and never ever ever finished. Rain, what have you been up to on the media world?

SPEAKER_09

Uh well, we haven't been watching a lot of stuff because of Ziggy's work, but we did manage to watch Five Nights at Freddy's 2. Oh, that was any good. Yeah, I thought it was pretty good. Um, it was it was uh about as good as the first one, so it don't expect like massive improvement. It's it's fun. It's a fun horror movie. A couple spots that made me jump. So yes, Boxy's in it. Uh not for very much though, because uh of an incident that happened today. Uh-oh. They explained it in the movie. Um but yeah, it's it's uh pretty good. It was a lot of fun. Uh the Marionette is a new character in the thing that's very scary. I didn't like the Marionette. Yeah, it's creepy as heck from the game, yeah. Yes. So the Marionette's in the new in the new movie, and it it's creepy as heck. Yeah. Um, but I've been keeping myself also busy with my new media project that I'll plug in the seamless plug section.

SPEAKER_05

Yay!

SPEAKER_09

Um and I've been killing some time uh revisiting a couple of my favorite older games, Batman Arkham Knight, and Bullet Storm. Awesome.

SPEAKER_07

All right, Ziggy, how about you? Guess what? Being playing Fortnite is nearly over. Yeah, it's really Fortnite still. Wow, okay. Yeah. The season is nearly over, and the final event is this Friday. Yay! Cool, team Ice King Yay! Alright.

SPEAKER_10

TikTok, how about you?

SPEAKER_02

Well, it's the usual Jeopardy and RuPaul All-Stars. The second batch of queens is a bit odd.

SPEAKER_10

They are, yeah, I have to say, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

They're not as strong as the first batch, I gotta say. Although Crystal Method really has a lot of potential. So she does.

SPEAKER_08

Seriously, she's crystal method. That's her name. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_10

I have to say though. I have to say, TikTok, I am so irritated with Silky Nuckmeg Ganash. I just would like her to go away. I didn't like her the first two times she was on, and I don't like her now.

SPEAKER_02

Right, yeah. It can be a little grating. But but yeah, we'll see where you know if it looks like Crystal Mithin might go into the semifinal or the finals? Something some the next round. Uh then also a couple of Tony Bourdain no reservations.

SPEAKER_10

Chitaro, and now that you don't have to focus on Furlandia all the time, what have you been up to in the media world?

SPEAKER_04

So Pink Lemonade and I have watched a couple of interesting movies. Uh a 2006 movie called Click, starring Adam Sandler. Yeah. It's a movie about a guy who wants to get through his life faster. He meets Morty, as funny as that's gonna sound, played by Christopher Walken, who gives him a remote, a remote control, that ends up helping him control his life better. But however, too too much use causes him heartache in his life and making him miss out on so much. So it's a kind of an interesting movie, I will tell you. I assume you've seen it. I have, yes. Yeah, yeah. It was different for sure. Um, but then we also watched um a 2017 movie that is also an Adam Sandler movie named Sandy Wexler. This is a movie about uh where where he plays a talent manager, uh, not a talent agent, because an agent uh doesn't really care for you as much as a manager does because they're family. That's what his words were in the movie. Um but but it's kind of interesting because he he tries to do everything for his clients. Um he actually found a singer named uh Courtney Clark, who was played by Jennifer Hudson, who he takes from a nobody to a superstar. He always used to lie about all of his clients to make them seem better than they really were, but he realized that lying didn't get him anywhere. But he ended up by telling the truth. He ended up getting the girl in the end. So it's kind of a cool movie, you know. But uh it's a little bit long for an Adam Sat uh Adam Sandler movie because it's a little over two hours, but you know, it it's worth the watch, especially if you like hearing Adam Sandler talk in his little broth.

SPEAKER_08

That sounds like kind of really creepy.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, of course.

SPEAKER_03

All of a sudden, I got Marionette in my mind when you and that's not a good combination, that voice and marionette.

SPEAKER_04

Right? No, for sure. Um, we also um watched the complete season one series of mating season. How was that? I haven't started it yet. So I thought it was pretty good, to be honest. I actually watched Big Mouth, who is this is also made by the people who watch Big Mouth, and I thought that was a good series too. But but it's really funny because it does focus on animals doing animal things. The very first episode is a because there's a bear, there's a raccoon, there's a deer, and there is a fox. And the fox is a lesbian. She has to make sure that's said in the very beginning. Well, in this case, this fox is a lesbian. But anyway, um, in the very first episode, in the very first episode, the raccoon ends up having sex with a skunk, and they end up getting tied together for an exorbitantly long period of time. You know, and so so that's the first episode. There's all sorts of fun things that happen, you know, all the way from learning about orgies to learning about uh, you know, people transitioning from thinking they're straight to gay and you know and and trans animals, and you know, it it's it's really pretty good. I thought it it's worth the watch as long as you know in advance that you're watching raunchiness. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

So I think I'm gonna have to uh have a dictionary with me when I watch this, because there's a lot of words you just said that I don't even know what they mean. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Well, the the mating season is very much similar to how the movie that I reviewed several episodes ago called Fixed, um, you know, focused on things. Well, this focuses on.

SPEAKER_03

I still don't understand so many things about that show.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, well, you know, it it it it is it is what animals do in the wild, Taven. So so you get an interesting education, I would say, for sure. Don't they like play poker and everything for like I could say that you could say that they play poker, yeah. Okay, okay, good. In a matter of speaking, they play poke him. They play poke him, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Pokerman, not Pokemon.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but but uh but we still are watching American Dad at bedtime because you know there's still several seasons that we still have to watch of American Dad to catch up. But I did start playing because right before Forlandia hit, a brand new game hit on the Xbox called Forza Horizon 6, and it's located in Japan. It is, in all honesty, the best Forza Horizon game yet. And if you like automobile driving, you should definitely play Forza Horizon 6 because there is lots of fun stuff to do. Um and and what's really fun is is zooming down a mountain and plowing down all the trees.

SPEAKER_03

And and when you're done with that, do you get to um power wash the garage?

SPEAKER_04

You know, as funny as that is, you get to re- you get to decorate your garage in this in this one, but you don't get to have a power washer in there.

SPEAKER_03

And well, and then when you when your hubby comes home and finds out what a bad job you did with decorating the garage, you have to use a power washer to get it all down. Because you use this paint that just sticks, and it it's I mean, I'm not talking from experience or anything, but it's just not a good situation to be in.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's for sure. Okay, that's for sure. Cool.

SPEAKER_10

But that's all my mediating. Taven, how about you? What have you been mediating or have you?

SPEAKER_03

I I I have, and and I'll do this fast because I talked way too much about Ferlandi, but uh Ferlandi was just so good and everything I had to talk about about, but so I'm gonna try and do this media really fast because I I already did a lot of stuff. So I'm gonna say, uh, so what did we watch? We've been watching the um and I'm still already watching first episode season three of B Stars because I'm a slow pup and I can't do anything, but hopefully I will actually finish season three at some point. We have one episode left of season seven of Brooklyn 99. It's still a pretty good season. They've definitely kept the Brooklyn 9 spirit going. It's really great. We watched this show, uh, season one called Big Mistakes. Really great show. It stars Dan Levy, who was also one of the creators of the show. It also stars others, but I didn't recognize them. So anyway, but I recognize Dan Levy, and it's a really good show. In IMDB description just says it all too directionless siblings are blackmailed into a world of organized crime. Dun dun dun. Oh no no. But basically, the Sister Seal is an innocent looking necklace that ends up being part of some bigger crime ring. Hilarity ensues. So as with what I've been watching, but I've been playing Royal Kingdom, Bloom Six is little bit beataber. I haven't had time to continue to try and figure out one deck's galaxy, but hopefully soon. Uh last time I talked about a game called Dominion that was recommended to me the deck builder that you can play with physical cards or online. I went to look at online, haven't tried yet, but it looks good. Last time I said I haven't had time to look at it, so maybe we'll talk about it next episode. And this is that episode. I still haven't had time, so maybe next episode. And that is my media ek for the week. Okie dokie.

SPEAKER_10

Wowzers.

SPEAKER_03

Remember to breathe.

SPEAKER_07

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, yeah. That's what happened to my brain just now. Ah, okay, thank you.

SPEAKER_04

I think Cabin drank too many Red Bulls. I think so.

:05 Movie Review

SPEAKER_04

Do you have a movie review for us to calm us down a little bit? No. I do, as a matter of fact. This one's this one's a little bit on the uh the interesting, exciting part. Um this this movie is uh a 2025 movie, so this came out uh last last year in October, and it's uh streaming on Netflix called Pets on a Train. No, no, and nor is it like snakes on a plane. Oh, um but that's a different story. Although there is a snake in this movie, but that's a different story too. So this is an interesting movie because the there there are different characters and and as ironic as this is gonna sound, the last several movies that I that I have been watching some somehow seem to be focused around a raccoon. So I will apologize, Rain, to to say that you know the deviousness of raccoons. But yes, with that being said, you don't need to apologize. But with that being said, the raccoon in this movie, he calls himself Falcon, and he enjoys taking food from people and giving it to his friends. So in the very beginning, he's talking to his groups of friends that because he had just gone around the park and around various parts of the city and stole various things from various people to give to his friends. And he says, Okay, we're gonna have this wonderful feast because I have planned this perfect thing that's gonna happen, that we're going to have a Christmas dinner. Now, the ironic part is they mention this all the time about Christmas dinner, but there is no except for one scene, there is no Christmas stuff in this entire movie, okay? But they call it Christmas dinner because, you know, at Christmas dinner you get a beautiful meal and you invite all your friends and you know, blah blah blah blah blah. So they they were going to hijack a train, the the animals, and be able to hijack all the food from it and then have this wonderful meal. He ends up planning this, he ends up going on the train and knocking out all the sensors, and and his friend that is helping him is remotely helping him and stuff. But what we don't know in the beginning is that his friend, whose name is Hans, and I'm gonna tell you first and foremost that the the movie itself has a lot of references to diehard. Okay, and the first reference is this person, Hans, because if you remember in the diehard movie, it was always Hans. Yeah. So it's funny that that's the case because it turns out that even though Hans wants to do something good for all the animals, he finds out as they were loading up the train, there's all these animals that are pets from other people that are going in the last car of the train and they're putting them on there. And then, of course, there's a police dog, there is two cats, uh, three different types of birds, another tiny dog that I think was supposed to be a chihuahua or something like that, who kind of was so hyper every time he ate sugar, he'd fall asleep. Um, and then of course, there was a turtle, and then there was a fish, and the fish was actually a clown fish, so it was kind of like a finding Nemo type fish, which is kind of hilarious because this is not a Disney movie. This is actually a movie that was made in France. So, um, so it's funny that they picked the animals that they did. Oh, oh, and there also is a snake, specifically an Anaconda. So all these animals are on the last part of the train and and they're all talking and stuff like that, while the raccoon, Falcon, is trying to do everything to get this train uh in his um hands so that he can steal all the food. Well, then his friend Hans ends up doing something where he makes all the people that were on board the train leave the train and then he controls the doors and he shuts all the doors and makes the train rush off. And so what happens from here to the end of the movie is basically all of the animals get brought out of their cages and they all attempt to go from the back of the train to the front of the train so they can stop this train because you know it it's like there's there's parts of the train where it's going through this really treacherous bridge, and if it was going too fast, it was gonna shake the whole entire bridge apart and make everybody die. And it's funny because one of the cats is a beautiful cat. It's like I want to almost say it was like a wild cat to a small degree, but it's just a a normal cat that looks like a wild cat. And all the time when she was talking, she would go, Yes, and we need to do this, otherwise we're gonna fall to our deaths and die. So, so it's kind of like at every turn you're you're getting told, Oh, something bad's gonna happen, something bad's gonna happen. But what ends up happening is the people end up getting involved, and specifically the people that end up getting involved are reporters on the news, and they're trying to film this stuff as going on, and they And I'm not gonna ruin it for you because the that's kind of the interesting part that the news reporters end up having some interest in this train and wanting to make the story big, and you know, if the train's gonna crash and all this stuff, then they're gonna get the biggest story of their life. Well, you'll have to watch the movie to find out if the train crashed, but it was a really good movie. The cinematography was excellent in this movie because you know, there was there was painted uh everything where where you you could tell that this you couldn't tell anywhere in this movie that it was French, in all honesty, till the end of the movie when they were rolling the credits. But when you look back after it, knowing that it's a French movie, you could see some of the French hillsides that they had painted and things of that nature and stuff. So it was rather nice to be able to see. But I say that this movie entertained me a lot. There was a lot of fun things that happened, there were a lot of silly things that happened. But the best part had to have been when the raccoon gets exited out of the pl out of the train, uh, and he he flies out and he falls what assumingly to his death, and he doesn't, you know, so to speak, miraculously. Yeah. And so he ends up getting on on this mountain and he sees the train coming, and he gets in this little RC car and races it down the mountain and and uh ends up going back into the train. It was a rather interesting scene, you know, but but it gave me a lot of hope that the movie uh it doesn't really have a massive message, but it did give me that that feeling of of warmth and excitement and and the fact of camaraderie amongst animals, so to speak, to work together to a common goal, so to speak. And with that, I say I give this I give this three and a half chirps. Um not not because of the fact that I didn't like it immensely, but you know, um it just there was a few things in it that I think could have made it a little bit more suspenseful, and it it wasn't, but you know, I I'm also a hard critic, what can I say, right? But but but it is a good movie, I recommend it. And uh like I said, it's on Netflix, so uh check it out.

SPEAKER_09

Great, awesome. Look forward to the next one.

SPEAKER_04

Absolutely for sure.

SPEAKER_10

All right, well, that brings us up to our

:14 Taebyn Interrupts

SPEAKER_10

intrepid news reporter, TikTok. What have you got for us in the world of furry news?

SPEAKER_03

Uh I have one quick thing that I remembered that about Furlandius. So all you furs barely was my page turner at story time, and that's very special because I've never been the page turner before. Even the folk together. Barley's usually always running around and filming and just taking care of things and stuff, and he's never been the page turner. So this was another special thing that happened at Furlandia this year, is that Barely gotta be uh my my page turner.

:00 Furry News

SPEAKER_03

So that was exciting. Okay, I'm done. TikTok's turn.

SPEAKER_02

Yay! So first up, and because I could probably get a little chuckle out of Barley, there's a shout out to Oregon State University, hot on the heels of Furlandia, the OSU furry club, the Beave Furs, hosted the second annual Beave Con the following weekend.

SPEAKER_10

Oh wow, okay. Oh my god. Beave Con.

SPEAKER_02

All right, yes, it happened two days ago. It did. And the one-day event featured the usual suspects, artists, vendors, gaming, fursuiting, socializing, and it provided dinner by the university. Then there was an evening dance for lots of fun times and to start also to start off pride.

SPEAKER_03

Nice. Can I add to that unless you have two maze? So they um were selling tickets and um they sold out uh 200, and they probably could have sold out, sold more. Um, and there's talk about uh furs from like Seattle and Portland and oh well, say Salem and Portland anyway, wanting to come down for next year's and everything. So yeah, it it it was very uh it was a big event.

SPEAKER_02

Awesome. Yeah, very nice. And let's see, second of all, as we previously previewed on furry news, the Seattle Opera hosted their first furry night at the opera on May 15th. And this was headlined by baritone Christian Purcell, aka Chester the Guru, for a performance of Carmen.

SPEAKER_03

Which we did you see the thing? Did we send you the thing? Like the the um video of that and pictures and stuff? Because we know people that know Chester, and um we actually got like videos of Chester singing, and Chester is like really good, and pictures of the furs we know at the event and everything. Anyway, I'll stop talking. I I apologize, uh, keep going. Sorry.

SPEAKER_02

So at the fursuit encouraged pre-show meet and greet, Chester appeared in his matador stage costume wearing his Giroux head to welcome the attendees, give out stickers, sign autographs, and post with a group photo. As one of the attendees appeared in their bull fursuit, there was a impromptu bullfight between Chester and the suited bull. Nice. Yeah, while attendees were asked to remove their heads for the actual performance, so to not block other people's vision, local cider tap house, slightly furry, rented a private box so they could remain in fursuit. Good times were had by all, and the event appears to have also been well received within the opera community.

SPEAKER_10

Nice.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And then finally, and which is also related to Chester, uh, he and some other classically trained musician friends have banded together to form Howl Aria. The international group featuring furry musicians from Norway, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, and the USA, perform classical pieces on stage singing or playing their instruments while in full suit. The group, who is led by Chester and Vazie the Fox, who plays violin, consists of four singers, eight musicians, and eight extra performers who provide audience and background. Notably, howl Arya's performance was recently featured on Spain's Got Talent with wild enthusiasm from the audience and judges alike, receiving four yeses from the judges. Uh however, yeah, however, howl Aria was unable to advance further in the competition to the semifinals. I was unable to find the reason why. It may have been televised audience voting. It's difficult to say, unless someone wants to let us know what happened. But I'm sure we'll be hearing much more from Howl Aria in the future, and we've included their website and the show notes, and on their website they have an events page which will hopefully be screening and coming to a soon soon coming to a stage near you. Alright then. Alright, and that's the news for this week.

:04 Upcoming Events

SPEAKER_10

That's the news for the week. Alright, that takes us up to our upcoming events.

SPEAKER_03

Every all you furs out there should have seen what just happened. As soon as Barley said that, literally everyone here, TikTok Tataro, Rain, Ziggy, and Bedley, immediately took their headphones off. It was quite, it was like a wait, it was quite a thing to behold. So with that, I say upcoming events.

SPEAKER_10

Alright, uh, going on this weekend as this episode drops. Uh, TikTok is all sorts of musky husky right now because it's Campfire Tales 2026, June 11th through the 15th at the Deschutes National Forest Ogden Group Camp in La Pine, Oregon. Also, this weekend is Little Island Fur Con in Singapore, the 13th through the 14th. Next weekend, June 19th through 21st, is Argentina Fur Fiesta in Buenos Aires. The same weekend we have two, three other events. We have the Mo Furry House in Qingdao, Shangdong Province, China. We have Texas Furry Siesta in Dallas, Texas, and we have the Borneo Anthro Hub in uh Sabah, Malaysia, not Borneo, which is very strange. The Portland Con, PortCon, Maine 2026 is taking place June 25th through 28th in Portland, Maine. Unforgettable Taiwan Furry Gathering is taking place in Zubai City, June 27th through the 28th. Cisfur is taking place in the Czech Republic the June 28th through July 3rd. That same weekend as Lakeside Furs 2026 in Austria. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, of course, is hosting Anthrocon 2026 on the 4th of July weekend, July 2nd through the 5th. That same weekend also is Indonesia Weekend Anthro Gathering in Indonesia. Furway is taking place June 10th through the July 10th through the 12th in Brandau, Norway. Moonfest, which I believe is a furry festival, not somebody just running around mooning everybody, is taking place in Columbia, July 10th through the 9th. That'd be an interesting festival, Moonfest.

SPEAKER_09

Right.

SPEAKER_10

Fur A is taking place July 16th through the 19th in Edmund Center, Canada, I'm assuming. It doesn't say which which country. It just says Delta Hotels Edmund South Conference Center. Alberta, Canada. Oh, it's on the next page. I should have toined the page. I should have toined the page. It's in Edmonton. Alright, July 16th through the 20th in Helena, Montana is Big Sky Camp Paw. Hotels Premium. Caminiminis in Brazil is hosting Brazil Furfest. Noctfernal is taking place in Carsonville, Michigan, July 17th through the 19th. July 17th through the 20th in Hood. Hood, Germany is a Purple Clouds Fest. Awustria takes place July 22nd through the 25th in Austria. Eurofur Euphoria takes place in Albany, New York. Again, not in Europe, but in Albany, New York. July 23rd through the 25th. That same weekend is Fur East in France. 24th through the 26th of July is Aurora in Australia. FurfestCon 2026 takes place in Kiev, Ukraine, July 24th through the 26th. July 9th, 29th through the August 2nd in Poland is Futurcon or Futacon. And of course, Anthro Weekend, Utah, where Tavin will be is taking place July 31st through August 2nd in Leyton, Utah. Now, if you have local events that you would like us to share, please contact us at barelyfirdcasting at gmail.com.

SPEAKER_09

And I gotta say, dang, the furries in Ukraine are are like they're real ones because there's a war going on there. And they're hardcore.

SPEAKER_10

Guys go. Taben, do you have a story for us?

SPEAKER_03

I do, but first I want to say so, um, as we know, Furcon attendance, speaking of all the FurCons, as we know Furcon attendance the like the past few years is going crazy. And looking at the Furlandia number and other numbers from this year, um, I noted that because I I already mentioned before Furlandia and AW and uh Denver are all pretty much pretty close and and Furlandia is as it's amazing. But looking at other notes, I noticed that as we've discussed before, Anthrocon is currently in the number one spot with last year's attendance of 18,357. And if I it's crazy. And of course, um Anthrocon is coming up pretty soon here, so I am excited to see what that looks like. Um so it's currently in the first uh number one spot. MFF was, last time I looked, in the second spot with 16,925. But now uh FWA happened, you know what, a week or two, like three or four weeks ago, just before Furlandia. And now FWA is in the second spot with 17,301. So this is just craziness, and it'll be very exciting to see as I say what what'll happen with AC coming up. Um MFF this year is probably gonna be insane. Anthro weekend, Utah will be looking forward to seeing what that's like. I haven't been before, but it's usually around like 3,500, so it'll be interesting to see how much that sort of con has grown and everything. Um, the world is being taken over by Fluff, I tell you, and that's the way it should go. So I just thought um it would be very useful to note that all of this.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. Thank you. Thank you for this. Um, do we have time for a story even?

SPEAKER_10

Sure. Why not? It's our season finale, we can do what we want.

SPEAKER_03

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. We are blah blah blah!

unknown

Hi.

SPEAKER_03

Barbara.

SPEAKER_10

Is that your bar?

SPEAKER_03

Barbara's rhubarbar indeed. Um okay, so the story for this week, last time, are you for as you might or might not know?

SPEAKER_07

Last time on BFFT. Dun dun dun. Um anteriormente in BFFT.

SPEAKER_03

Gentlemen, buenas noches. Um last time we didn't let the pigeon drive the bus.

SPEAKER_10

We did not. Correct.

SPEAKER_03

This time we are not going to let the pigeon stay up late. Okay. No. And so uh this guy says, Oh good, it's you. Listen, it's getting late and I need to brush my teeth. Can you do me a favor? Don't let the pigeon stay up late. Okay. So this is our job. Yeah. This is our job. And he says, thanks. So he goes off to brush his teeth. And Pigeon comes in and says, First of all, I'm not even tired. In fact, I'm in the mood for a hot dog party. What do you say? No, no, go to bed. Go to bed.

SPEAKER_10

Go to bed.

SPEAKER_03

And Pigeon says, No? And he has his little armies crossed and very, very unhappy about it. I hear there's a good show about birds on TV tonight. It should be very educational. How about just like five minutes?

SPEAKER_04

No, no. Definitely no.

SPEAKER_03

Come on, what's five minutes in the grand scheme of things anyway?

SPEAKER_04

No. No, no, no. Too much time. Go to bed.

SPEAKER_03

And pigeon gives a he turns his head and gives a little tiny yawn. And he says, and then he says, What what? What? What? He wakes himself up again. And then then he runs around and says, Not tired. And and then he says, You know, we never get to talk to any more. Tell me about their day.

SPEAKER_09

No, no. Just go to bed.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, oh, wait, wait, wait. I've got a great idea. We could count the stars. No, go to bed. No, you go to bed.

SPEAKER_04

Go to bed.

SPEAKER_03

Can I have a glass of water? No.

SPEAKER_04

No, no. Just go to bed.

SPEAKER_03

Studies show that pigeons hardly need any sleep at all. It's the middle of the day in China after all. I'll go to bed early tomorrow night instead.

SPEAKER_04

No. No, no. Definitely no.

SPEAKER_03

Ah! Hey, hey, ho, ho! This here pigeon just won't go!

SPEAKER_05

Please!

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_03

No, no bed. And then Pigeon brings out his little stuffed bunny. My bunny wants to stay up too. You can't say no to a bunny, can you? Yes, I can. No to bed. Go to bed. And then pigeon lets out a big old yawn. Okay. That was not a yawn. I was I was stretching. I I'm I'm yawn. I'm 110% awake. And then he's kind of getting a little like flopping down. You haven't heard the yawn last of me. And then there's Pigeon is asleep. And then the guy comes back and he says, Great work. Thanks. Good night. And then you see Pigeon is dreaming of a hot dog party with his bunny.

SPEAKER_08

Okay. Awww. How adorable.

SPEAKER_03

We did it. We did it.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, okay.

:16 Shameless Plugs

SPEAKER_10

Well, that brings us up to our shameless plugs. I would like to uh once again ask for your vote for our nomination in the Good Furry Awards. Yes, vote for us. The nominations are open until June 30th, so just another couple of weeks. So give us a give us a vote or two. And uh of course, one of the other podcasts on our network is Royal Highness, where the hosts enhance themselves with cannabis products and then watch a television show. They're currently watching The Last Kingdom, and they're doubling up on episodes uh for the next three weeks because there's only four more episodes left of the series, and then House of the Dragon season three launches on June 21st, so we'll be right into that immediately after. So if you haven't listened to these two, um, they're hilarious, and uh I laugh my took us off every time I have to produce this show. Tuokus, my tuckass. Rain, how about you?

SPEAKER_09

Well, we got three do who, the monthly Doctor Who podcast where Barely James and I discuss all things Doctor Who. This month is all about Osgood from Unit. And next month we'll actually be discussing Unit. Uh as of this recording, there are two episodes of my new YouTube series, Raccoon. Rain. But what is that? Rain, what is that YouTube series that you're talking about, Rain? What is it? It's called Raccoon. Is it Rain's Astonishing Curious Cases of Odd Notoriety, where I talk about all things spooky. I I have to ask a real question.

SPEAKER_10

How long did it take you to come up with something that fit the word raccoon?

SPEAKER_09

Well, be because uh because uh somebody has almost incurable insomnia lately while I've been waiting for the s the uh Chilean immigration to come through.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_09

Not anymore. Uh yeah, uh I had been up a lot of nights and waking up in the middle of the night and it just kind of popped in my head, and it's kind of something I wanted to do. Uh yeah, it's it's Rain's Astonishly Curious Cases about notoriety, where I talk about all things spooky, mysterious, odd, abandoned places, and true crimes. Uh so the first episode is about Scotty's Castle. It did okay. The second episode's about the Mojave Megaphone, and within the first 48 hours, I hit 119 views on it.

SPEAKER_10

Nice. Wow.

SPEAKER_09

Yes, it's that was it's doing pretty well, I think. So the third episode's gonna be about it's gonna be a little bit more serious. It's about uh Colonia Dignidad here in Chile and the crimes that were committed there, uh, and it's coming out this week. Actually, uh, well, it'll be tomorrow for us, but uh well, it'll be tomorrow for everybody else too, but they won't hear about this until after it's come out. So uh but yeah, it'll be kind it'll be it's it'll be out when you hear this, plus probably another two. So you can find all the links to my projects and socials on my Link Tree, L-I-N-K-T-R dot e-e forward slash rain raccoon. That's R-A-Y-N-E-R-A-C-C-O-O-N. Alrighty. Ziggy, how about you? What have you got to plug?

SPEAKER_07

If you see a green haired raccoon under the name of Mappacho Pistacho, come at me, bro. I need a point. Hope you like lead.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Well, if you're at Camp for our Tales, come on by and get some Stimpty CFT hugs.

SPEAKER_04

Awesome. Alright. Chitaro, what have you got to slug? The Pride Parade on the 19th of July. Um, we're still looking for furs to come and help us out with that. Because Get Out the Float, Slab Town, Scamper, and Plush are all combining together to make one big gigantic uh uh entity. I'll be there a big pride entity. Yeah, a very big pride entity. You know, and it's gonna be kind of fun. So if you're interested in wanting to come out and march in the parade with us, reach out to me in on social media and I can uh in terms of things and I will direct you to the right place. Are fursuits encouraged to walk in the parade? Fursuits are definitely encouraged to walk in the parade. Now, granted, I'm gonna say that because it's on July 19th, the heat is going to be warm, but we recommend people to wear partials and not complete furs full fursuits just to be more comfortable cautious in that regard.

SPEAKER_09

And to call out one of our past guests, you could you do have time right now to order a set of easy cooldown packs and invest. Yes, you do. That's very true. That's very true.

SPEAKER_04

Because he ships very quickly. The other thing is that you know, we are starting to think about Furlandia 2027, and if nobody has already heard about our our theme for 2027, it's going to be ready for E1, which is an all-time gamers meta. So any any type of gaming that you could possibly think of doing, we're hoping that we can have involved in uh Forlandia 2027. So uh keep an eye out on our website, Forlandia.org forward slash 2027. At some point, uhlandio, if you search on the uh website, it will switch over from 2026 to 2020.

SPEAKER_09

You guys should have some furry VR meetings too, so that uh people can join together in that.

SPEAKER_04

We're we're hoping to do like me from all the way here in Chile. I would I would enjoy having having uh Chileans involved in uh VR chatting, so to speak. So that'd be fun. Yeah, but other than that, um, you know, there's there's just the the typical things of like maybe I might go to plush that's on the weekend before Pride, but I have not decided yet because I'm still trying to recover. Oh right.

SPEAKER_05

All right.

SPEAKER_04

Tabin, what have you got to plug?

SPEAKER_03

Well, I've already talked like a lot, so I'm gonna do that thing and I try and get through this really fast. So all you first don't have to be bored listening to me talk. So I have a link free l-ink tr.w for slash tabin has a link to all my things, but you can also just go to things like I have an Instagram, but I don't use it much. It's Tabin Pop. SPEAKER_05

Not by a long shot.

SPEAKER_03
